To celebrate the launch of Nintendo’s NES Classic Edition system, they launched an exciting launch party at the Nintendo NY Store. Check out these photos from the event: The NES Classic Edition system is an homage to the first successful console to come out of Nintendo here in America. The system itself is a miniaturized version of the original NES, with some extra bells and whistles to work in a modern setting. It plugs in via HDMI, allows for suspend points and allows you to reproduce a classic look via filters and settings. It comes packed in with one controller which plugs in via the same port used on Wii controllers (yes, it’s compatible with the Wii and Wii U) as well as 30 classic games loaded on the system. The system itself costs $59.99 and extra controllers cost $9.99 each and is available at amazon, Best Buy, GameStop, Target and Walmart (though you’ll be hard-pressed to find one, they’re selling fast). Go and hunt one down for yourself for some nostalgic fun!
