With only a couple substantial rhythm games on the Nintendo Switch at this time, it’s exciting to know that the fantastic rhythm game SUPERBEAT: XONiC is coming to the Switch this fall!
Platforms: PC (via Steam), Sony PlayStation 4, Sony PlayStation Vita
Player(s): 1 Just when you think the killing game might have finally ended, we’re treated with another despair filled adventure of whimsy, violence, trust, betrayal and hope. Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony takes everything from the series and uses it to throw at us a thrilling conclusion. For long time Metroid fans such as myself, we never dreamed that the day would come that we would get a proper remake of Metroid II on the Game Boy in a new game called Metroid: Samus Returns for the Nintendo 3DS family of systems. Alas, it happened nonetheless! Amidst all the excitement for the game, you may miss the opportunity to get a rare occurrence: a limited edition Metroid themed New Nintendo 3DS XL console. Lucky for you, I picked it up, so check out how it looks, along with the Special Edition of the game itself.
Today was a busy day for Nintendo fans. While we didn’t get any real big surprises from today’s Nintendo Direct, we were certainly met with many headlines to excite both 3DS and Switch owners. Let’s take a quick look at some of my favorite highlights.
Visual novels or games that feature detailed stories accompanied by sprites and music have been a staple in Japan since the early 1990s. Ren’ai games or “dating sims” that revolve around branching story paths where you romance characters go back just as far. It has taken a long time for the genre to gain mainstream attention overseas but Western indie developers have been utilizing this wonderful storytelling medium with increasing visibility and Dream Daddy: A Dad Dating Simulator is one of the most unique, charming examples in recent memory.
