Platforms: Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, PC CRYMACHINA is an Action RPG that comes by way of FuRyu and NIS America. I actually mistakenly thought it was somehow related to FuRyu's earlier title CRYSTAR, a game that I really enjoyed in its NIS re-release. This game is related only in style and themes, and really does its own thing. It actually is quite unique in terms of story, art style, and just general atmosphere and feel of the world. Actually, calling it simply an Action RPG truly does it a disservice as it really changes up the gameplay formula; not always for the best. I'm getting ahead of myself though. Let's back up, and take a long look at CRYMACHINA and see if this a world that you're going to want to dip your feet into. Platforms: Nintendo Switch Composer World is a music creation tool that recently released on the Nintendo Switch. Calling it a game is a bit of a stretch, but we'll get into that more later on. Released by Dynamic Voltage Games, Composer World lets you create music using different soundfonts from several styles like pop, jazz, synths, and even retro 8 and 16 bit console sounds too. You can then share your creations online with players from around the world, and gain experience from others listening to your songs, and from listening to theirs as well. It probably goes without saying that this will probably be a difficult game to review, but we're going to give it a go anyway.... so wish us luck! By Al Players: 1-2 (Local & Online)
Platforms: Nintendo Switch, XBox, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 There are several retro arcade collections out there today, and QUByte have a new one for everyone to check out: VISCO Collection! VISCO Corporation is a game developer that is best known for their titles released on Neo Geo systems, and their arcade collaborations with a pre-Sega Sammy. This collection brings together seven of their games, and they are quite the spread in terms of genre and origin. Seeing as rating this as a single game might be a bit difficult (Though we will do that later!), we're going to tackle each game one at a time. Since there's seven of these, let's just do away with the rest of the intro and get right into it! Forthright Entertainment & Huracan Studio have been working hard ever since the Early Access launch of Terrordrome: Reign of Legends. The game is now set for a full Steam release this December, and you can read more about it below!
Evil Otto is back! On November 9th he once again invites you to his maze of maniacal chaos in the newly reimagined Berzerk: Recharged. All the latest about this upcoming game can be found below!

Platforms: Nintendo Switch, PC Wet Steps is a visual novel that just released for the Nintendo Switch that previously saw a release on Steam. It has the anime art style that fans of the genre come to expect, but it also features a plot that contains elements of Slavic mythology. It's hard for visual novels to stand out these days, especially on platforms like the Switch that contain several of them. So, let's take a look at this one and see what, if anything, sets this one apart from the rest! By Al Players: 1
Platforms: Nintendo Switch, XBox, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, PC Have you ever wanted to play a game that places you into the role of a cat? Well, then Cats and the Other Lives is the game for you! Releasing on consoles following a PC release last year, Cats and the Other Lives is something of a point and click style adventure game that adds in other genre elements as well. Following in the wake of Stray, you play as a house cat for a rather mysterious, but apparently wealthy, family in a series of puzzles and adventures that lean heavily towards horror. So it's a scary cat game? Well, I guess it's time for us to cut the intro short and dive into this one to see if it's worth picking up, or ignoring it in favor of the many other cat simulator-style games out there. Then again being a cat is always somewhat fun... By Al Players: 1
Platforms: Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 Archetype Arcadia is a dark, sci-fi visual novel that is developed by the same team that brought us Raging Loop back in 2019, and it's out now on the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5. It's arguable that visual novels aren't often associated with long narratives, or darker themes, but Archetype Arcadia brings them both in droves. Is this post-apocalyptic story worth sinking 50 hours into? Do the dark themes weave themselves in well with the pseudo-Isekai plot? What are some of the secrets that lie beneath the surface of the game's world? Well, we're hopefully going to answer all those questions and more in this review, so read on to find out! |
