Player(s): 1 Platforms: PC Sekai Project has released the English version of 僕と恋するポンコツアクマ / The Ditzy Demons are In Love with Me. In this romantic comedy visual novel, you are given the chance to date an assortment of demon girls who are too ditzy to function. It is available on Steam with the option to purchase the adult content DLC pack, which includes the bulk of the sexual encounters. Even without the additional DLC this would still qualify as an 18+ game as there are still some graphic situations. The Ditzy Demons Are in Love With Me begins by introducing the cast as the main character, Ren, has known them up until now. This includes Riria (childhood friend), Emiri (non-blood related sister), Yuu (transfer student), Arle (your sister's friend), and Miyabi (reliable senpai). Everything changes after your childhood friend attempts to bed you and fails. Her mother, Reika, sends the whole group to live in a dorm together, because for some reason she assume this will make her daughter less stupid. We find out that all the girls you have met are "demons". Riria is a succubus and we are told her inability to act on her fascination with sex makes her a ditz. Your non-blood related sister is a literal angel, but her brother complex ruins her angelic nature. Yuu is a yuki-onna from a small village in the mountains, but cannot take the cold. Arle is a mummy who cannot stand tight clothing and will be naked as much as possible. Miyabi is a witch who is constantly conducting failed experiments on herself at home to work toward her goal of becoming a pharmacist. For comedy's sake we add in Tama (your teacher and a dragon woman) who actively antagonizes the main characters for being young and horny. Ren is asked to stay at the dorm to help rehabilitate the girls and make them normal functioning demons. The story goes on to give you one lewd interaction with each girl before you get the option to pursue each route. Moving into each story we focus on the barely there problems of each girl and get anywhere from 4-6 sexual encounters per route. The girls are straight forward tropes without much more to them. Their demon themes are pretty much inconsequential and are an excuse to put them in sexy outfits. This isn’t really a problem in an eroge, it is what it is, but do not expect anything above average in that department. The stories are cute, but all of the stories follow the same track. You get together, are happy, have a lot of sex and are still happy. Without the DLC, the story is not particularly romantic and there is never really a given reason why these girls like the main character past him being a nice guy. This was probably the biggest problem with playing the VN without the DLC. In multiple routes it seems like some sort of character development happens in these scenes, making this version really irksome. Since this is first and foremost a delivery system for perverted situations the plot is threadbare. Without the DLC you don’t get the satisfaction of seeing the thin plot move forward or the lewd scenes that are supposed to make up for it. What hurts it most is the lack of conflict in the stories. You get together, are happy, and continue to be happy. I realize that I am judging what is a essentially porn story for it’s plot and it feels like that is “missing the point”. That is what makes the base version of this VN so unnecessary. There were some functions that I did enjoy, however. The addition of sub-heroines makes it so that in some way you can pursue every girl in the game. These sub routes for Reika, Tama, and Rin (supporting friend to the main cast) are actually more charming than I expected. They were cute short stories and do not give you time to become bored with the lack of conflict. Each one included it’s own CG set. I didn’t expect that! The game also includes three after story situations for each girl, one of which includes an additional CG set. It was a nice touch. The game also includes the function that if you push “P” on the keyboard at anytime you can crash the program. This is the “Panic Button” and using it gives you the Achievement “Mom’s Here!” which honestly gave me a good laugh. Overall, I do not think this VN in the form I played it was worth it. Without the full eroge scenes the VN was not really charming or interesting. Redeeming features like the option to date any girl in the cast do make it at least worth considering the full version. There are VNs out there that can have an interesting story and adult situations, but this is not it. Not everyone wants to have to pay attention to the story in a porn game. If that is you, this could be a fine option. -Emily You Can Pick Up "The Ditzy Demons are In Love With Me" Here: https://store.steampowered.com/app/802870/The_Ditzy_Demons_Are_in_Love_With_Me/ Story: C- Graphics: C Sound: C Value: C- OVERALL: C- Pros: + Sub Heroine Routes add a lot of value to the game. + Panic Button is fun and functional. Cons: - Without the DLC the game is almost pointless. - One dimensional characters. - Lack of conflict in the plot makes it boring.
