Platforms: Nintendo Switch, XBox, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, PC We've all seen the memes, we've all been so hungry that we could eat an octorok, and we all lived through the endless YouTube poops. Well, maybe you didn't, but I'm sure you're at least a little bit familiar with the CD-i Zelda games. Two games that graced the failed console way back in 1993, Link: The Faces of Evil and Zelda: The Wand of Gamelon. They're as famous as they are infamous and someone has done the unthinkable and created a modern spiritual successor to these classically bad games! Seth "Dopply" Fulkerson, Seedy Eye Software, and Limited Run Games have come together to bring us all Arzette: The Jewel of Faramore! Is this game going to crash and burn spectacularly like the originals? Or will it rise above and prove that the concepts behind those two games weren't inherently bad? We're going to be taking a look at the game right now to find out. So, without further ado, let's all duckwalk our way into the Kingdom of Faramore! By Manuel Players: 1
Platforms: Nintendo Switch, XBox, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Atari VCS, PC What do you get when you take one of the world's oldest video games and try to update it? You get qomp2 of course! qomp2 is the sequel to the 2021 game that is the spiritual successor to the classic 1972 game, Pong. It's developed by Graphite Lab, published by Atari, and it's coming out on all major consoles and PC very soon. While Pong was a two-player sports (?) title, qomp2 is more of a puzzle game that features a Pong ball as the main character. Since this is probably going to take a bit to explain, let's dive right into it! By Al Players: 1
Platforms: Nintendo Switch, XBox, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 Normally I go into reviews with a description of the game, and a brief little intro of what you may expect in the review. I'm not sure I can do that here. A Time Traveller's Guide to Past Delicacies (here after simply referred to as "A Time Traveller's Guide") is an odd little game that is coming to consoles soon, following an earlier release on PC. It's rather short, but there's a lot to say about it still. I'm going to just get into it straight away without much intro, so prepare yourself to discuss one of the strangest games ever! Platforms: PC Have you too been looking for an old-school pirate RPG to fill the void left by classics of the genre like Sid Meier's Pirates or the Uncharted Waters series? Well, I hope so because today we're going to be looking at Caribbean Legend, a newly released open world, pirate RPG that is a spiritual successor to the iconic Sea Dogs series. It's actually a bit more than just a successor, but we'll to that in due course. It's out now in both a paid full version, and a free Sandbox version. It's developed by BlackMark Studio, published by Valkyrie Initiative, and I've spent many hours both playing it, and writing this review. I guess we have a lot to go over, so let's just dive right into it! The wait is over! Fans of the long-running Ys series have cause to rejoice today as NIS America recently revealed details regarding the release of Ys X: Nordics. All the currently available details, as well as the Announcement Trailer, can be found below!

Platforms: Nintendo Switch, PC Meta Meet Cute!!!+ (Hereafter referred to simply as "Meta Meet Cute".) is a quirky little visual novel that is probably a bit too self-aware for its own good. Or maybe that's a good thing? Well, either way this visual novel was developed by Studio Thursday, and is finally getting an English-language release by way of Sticky Rice Games just in time for Valentine's Day! The time is right for love to be in the air, so we'll be taking a look at the game and see if it's worth disrupting tonight's dinner plans over. It's out now on PC and Nintendo Switch, but this review will focus on the Switch release. There's a lot to cover here, so let's dive right in! By Al Players: 1
Platforms: Nintendo Switch, XBox, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 Action platformers are all the rage these days, but what about ones that feature an explorer traversing lost cities in the wilderness? Those might be a bit rarer, and that's exactly what we get in Teppo And The Secret Ancient City, a retro-styled action platformer that is out now for all major consoles and PC. We're going to be taking a look at it now and see if this is a title that you're going to want to add to your collection, or if it's something that's better left unearthed. Without further ado, let's dive in and find out! By Al Players: 1-2
Platforms: Nintendo Switch, XBox, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, PC Colorful, character-driven platformers have seen a resurgence lately, and that boom leads us straight to the game we're going to be looking at today. Coming in at the tail end of 2023 is Paperman: Adventure Delivered, a classic style, collect-a-thon platformer that features four playable characters that all have their own unique abilities. It's out now on just about every major console and PC, and boy do I have a lot to say about it. I don't want to get ahead of the review, but most of what will follow is going to be anything but positive. We're about to jump straight into the deep end here, so let's cut the intro short and get right into it. By Al Players: 1
Platforms: Nintendo Switch, XBox, PlayStation 4 It's been a while since we've had the pleasure to look at a twin stick shooter that wasn't also a roguelike, but that changes now with the arrival of Mustache In Hell. Coming to consoles by way of QUByte Interactive, following an earlier release on Steam, it promises action-packed gameplay set literally in Hell. Hopefully that very unique setting doesn't bleed into the gameplay, or we might have quite the game on our hands. We won't know anything until we dive into the game though, so let's get on with it already. Get those mustaches ready! By Al Players: 1
Platforms: Nintendo Switch, XBox, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, PC Edge of Reality is a visual novel that is currently available on Steam, but coming soon to all major consoles. It's a rather small game, from an equally small development team, but has a few features that make it rather unique. It also has a story and setting that go against the typical anime-related tropes one usually sees in the genre. Seeing as this review is probably going to take longer to write than the game took to beat (more on that later), let's just skip the long intro and get right into it! |
