Platforms: Nintendo Switch, XBox One, XBox Series XS, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, PC (Steam) We don't often review fighting games at A-to-J, and the few we do are usually on the indie side of things. Mostroscopy fits that bill exactly, and it's a luchador-themed fighting game from developer Oribe Ware Games, and publisher Seashell Studio. It's out now on just about every major platform, and we're going to be taking a look at it today on the PlayStation 4. There's going to be a lot to cover in this one, so let's dive right in!

Platforms: PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 It's no secret that I'm a fan of Chinese media, and that love extends to video games. There are several huge, Chinese-developed titles that I could look at, but I have a special place in my heart for those created by Softstar Entertainment. Though not well-known in the West, Softstar's franchises include Xuan-Yuan Sword, The Legend of Sword and Fairy, Richman, and The Bridge Curse, just to name the biggest ones. I've actually reviewed several games in each of those series already, but I have yet to officially tackle a mainline entry in one of them. A few months back I reviewed Sword and Fairy Inn 2 (A review you can find HERE!), and today I will be reviewing the most recent game in that series: Sword and Fairy: Together Forever. It's been out for a while now on the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, and we're going to be looking at it on the latter console in this review. It probably comes as no surprise that I have a lot to say about this one, so I guess we'll just cut the intros short and dive right in! Square Enix recently announced that two all-new Final Fantasy XVI game-tie-in books are slated to arrive in 2026 from their Square Enix Books imprint, beginning in March with the English-language publication of LOGOS: The World of Final Fantasy XVI. In addition to LOGOS: The World of Final Fantasy XVI, the imprint will also be releasing the English-language edition of The Art of Final Fantasy XVI: Echoes of the Rising Tide, arriving May 2026. Details and preorder information for these books can be found below!

Platforms: Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, PC Konosuba: God's Blessing On This Wonderful World! Love For These Clothes of Desire! (From here on simply referred to as "Konosuba" or "Clothes of Desire") is a visual novel with some light dating sim elements. It originally released in Japan way back in 2020, and it's finally getting an official English-language release courtesy of PQube. As you probably already know, it's based on the isekai anime of the same name, though I am going to be jumping into it with only the barest of knowledge of the franchise itself. While games like this most often attract existing fans of the property they're based on, I think it'll be interesting to see how it appeals to someone who is totally new to everything it has to offer. Anyway, with all that out of the way, let's jump into the world of Konosuba and see exactly how clothes of all things tie into it! By Manuel Players: 1
Platforms: Nintendo Switch, XBox One, XBox Series XS, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, PC (Steam) I'm a huge fan of horror movies and I distinctly recall hearing of the release of The Bridge Curse back in 2020. For reasons I don't think I need to get into here, 2020 was a really strange year and I didn't watch the movie at the time. I probably would've forgotten all about it, but I was surprised to learn that it was received a video game adaptation titled The Bridge Curse: Road to Salvation (Hereafter simply referred to as "The Bridge Curse") by Taiwanese developer SoftStar (The same company behind the Xuan-Yuan Sword and Sword and Fairy series), and it was being published on consoles by EastAsiaSoft. Said game came out back in 2023, and I'm a little late to the party. It ultimately tells a tale far different than the movie, but I guess we'll get more in that later on. It's currently available on every major platform, and we're going to be taking a look at the PlayStation 5 version today. I previously looked at it on the Nintendo Switch, but I'll cover that later as well. There's a lot of ground to cover in this one, so let's dive right in! By Manuel Players: 1
Platforms: Nintendo Switch, XBox Series XS, PlayStation 5, PC (Steam) I've reviewed a lot of farming games recently, and it's been quite a mixed journey as far as their quality and longevity goes. Some simply feel like cash grabs meant to capitalize on the "cozy games" boom, while others are instant classics that I still hope get support for years to come. The game we're going to look at today is one that has been on my radar for over a year now, and I've been wanting to play ever since I heard its premise. Cattle Country is a western-themed farming sim that takes players on a journey of farming, mining, festivaling, marrying, and all the other things one expects to find in a game like this. It's currently available on all current platforms, and we're going to be looking at the game on both Steam and the Nintendo Switch. Will this be another instant classic? Will it live up to all the expectations have for it? Will I refrain from using the word "Yeehaw!" every sentence paragraph? We'll answer all those questions and more in this review! Let's get right to it! Yeehaw! (Darn it!) By Manuel Players: 1
Platforms: PC (Steam) Referring to a game as "cozy" is all the rage these days, with many taking on that title despite never having earned it. It's also not a term one typically hears when discussing a visual novel. The game we're going to talk about today not only embodies the term 'cozy", but it also falls into the visual novel genre. Hanako's Flower Shop is part farming game, part shop simulator, and mostly visual novel. It's out now on Steam by way of FantaJi Games, and it has quite the shoes to fill after that bit of hyping up I just gave it. There's a lot to cover in this one, so let's dive right in! |
