Platforms: Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, PC Anime vs. Evil: Apocalypse (Referred to as simply "Anime vs. Evil" from here on out.) is a third-person shooter that recently dropped onto consoles following an earlier Steam release. It's out now on the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5, and we're going to be taking a look at the Switch version today. Though it bears a slight resemblance to the ecchi themed games we've reviewed in the past, it seemingly offers quite a bit more in terms of gameplay. Is that enough for it to be worth picking up? Let's dive in and find out! By Manuel Players: 1
Platforms: Nintendo Switch, PC Action platformers are very common these days, as are ecchi titles dropping onto consoles, especially on the Nintendo Switch. What happens when you mix both of those things together? You get Dreamcutter of course! Previously available on PC, it recently made its way to Nintendo Switch courtesy of publisher EastAsiaSoft. It's that Switch release we're going to be looking at today, so let's get right into it! Oh, and because this is an ecchi title, there will be some discussion regarding adult topics. In short, you've been warned! By Al Players: 1
Platforms: Nintendo Switch, XBox, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, PC There are times when I feel that half of the upcoming game releases are all roguelites, and it's into this rather crowded seen that The Land Beneath Us enters. I don't want to sound too negative though, as there seems to be quite a bit that makes this one stand out a bit among the crowd. We'll get to what makes it unique in a bit, but what matters now is that it's currently available on all major platforms, and we're going to be taking a look at the Nintendo Switch version today. There's going to be a lot to discuss here, so let's get right into it! By Manuel Players: 1
Platforms: Nintendo Switch, XBox, PlayStation 4, PC I recently reviewed Xuan Yuan Sword: Mists Beyond the Mountains (that can be found HERE), and now the most recent entry into the long-running series, 2020's Xuan Yuan Sword 7, is also available in an official English-language release. We're going to be taking a look at the Nintendo Switch version of the game today, but it's also available on most current platforms. This console release comes to us by way of publisher EastAsiaSoft, who also published Mists Beyond The Mountains on consoles. I have a lot of love for this series, and quite a bit to say about this game, so let's dive right in! By J.D. Players: 1
Platforms: PC The Huns have launched an invasion of the Persian capital, and with their shamanic magic, have taken over the city. The only one capable of stopping them is a Prince of Persia who, thanks to the Sands of Time his magical bola, finds himself waking up at an oasis three days after the invasion started. Which is also the point where he dies. This is the setup for The Rogue Prince of Persia, the newest game in the long-running Prince of Persia series. Published by Ubisoft and developed by Evil Empire, the game was released in Early Access on Steam a few weeks ago. By Al Players: 1
Platforms: Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PC Ginger - The Tooth Fairy is a platforming game that recently released on the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PC. It's a game aimed at younger players, and is described by its developer as being "beginner friendly". Though I'm always wary of games that purposely aim for such a specific demographic, we're going to be taking a look at the Nintendo Switch version today to see if that goal was met. There's quite a bit to go over in this one, so let's get right to it. By Manuel Players: 1-2 (Local Only)
Platforms: Nintendo Switch, PC Back when I reviewed Arzette: The Jewel of Faramore (Which can be found HERE) I wondered what other "bad" games could be made good if the developers took a different approach to the core concept. Little did I know at the time that a game inspired by another "bad" CD-i game, in this case Hotel Mario, was soon to drop into my lap! Enter Goliath Depot, a game that takes Hotel Mario's door-slamming mechanic, but crafts a far better game that rather simple premise. Having been previously released on Steam, it recently got a Nintendo Switch release by way of publisher Flynn's Arcade. That's the version we're going to be looking at today. There's a lot to cover here, so let's get right into it! By Al Players: 1-2
Platforms: Nintendo Switch, XBox, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, PC Today we'll be looking at a game that mixes action platforming and stealth gameplay in a way that I don't think I've ever seen before. Undercat is a new game that comes to us by way of developer Sparky Tail Games, and publisher OverGamez. It's out now on just about every major platform, and we're going to be taking a look at the Nintendo Switch version in this review. Choosing a side in the war between the animals is no easy task, so let's cut the intro short, and get right into it! By Al Players: 1
Platforms: Nintendo Switch, PC Out now on PC and the Nintendo Switch, A Cat & His Boy is a game that examines the effects of a divorce on a young child. Though that might seem like rather heavy subject matter, and indeed it is, the game beautifully tackles the topic in a way that I found to be quite surprising. This is going to be a rather short review of an equally short game, so let's cut the intro short and dive right in! By Al Players: 1
Platforms: Nintendo Switch, XBox, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, PC Every so often a game comes along that seems to defy any attempt to describe it in a few words. Enter Terminal 81, a game that you might call a job simulator if not for the fact that it centers on a story that can be quite dark at times. Developed by what I believe is a single person, it recently made its way to consoles by way of publisher Sometimes You. Potential players can grab this right now on just about every major platform, but we're going to be looking at the Nintendo Switch release today. This is going to be quite the game, so let's get right into it! |
