Platforms: Nintendo Switch, XBox, PlayStation 4, Steam We're going to be looking at quite a different game than usual today, a game that stretches the definition of that very word: Bright Lights of Svetlov. It's out now on consoles, following a previous release on Steam back in 2021. This is a game that had me stumped as to how exactly I was going to review it. It's extremely hard to describe, and it's also something that can be spoiled if discussed too much without actually playing it. I'm going to do my best to give this the normal review treatment, but I think we might have a few stumbles along the way. By Al Players: 1
Platforms: PC (Steam Early Access) Cornucopia is a new farming simulation game that is currently in Early Access on Steam. Comparisons to Stardew Valley and Story of Seasons are obvious, but the game features a rather unique 2.5D art style, and a more robust lively town than what's seen in most other games within the genre. Even though it's only been available since July, it's seen many updates over the past few months, with some even coming out during the course of me publishing this write-up. Speaking of this write up, this isn't going to be a review of the game, we're going to take a look at the state Cornucopia is in now, and I'll do my best to help you decide if it's something worth grabbing now, something you might want to wait out a bit, or if you're better off skipping it altogether. The crops aren't going to raise themselves though, so let's get right to it! By Manuel Players: 1
Platforms: Nintendo Switch, Steam Arcade Tycoon is a simulation game that was originally Kickstarted back in 2019, and saw an Early Access Steam release shortly afterwards. It has since received a full release, and will soon be arriving on the Nintendo Switch. I'm a sucker for Tycoon-style games, and have been longing for a new one to play. Naturally that means I'm all over this one, but the real question here is if this game has what it takes to scratch that Tycoon itch. That original Kickstarter was quite the modest one, and it's being worked on by a very small team, but I have high hopes and expectations for this one. With that said, let's skip all the formalities and just get right into it! Action roguelites are quite numerous these days, but one that features Chinese mythology and Sun Wukong? Well, we're excited for this one, and you can read about the upcoming release of Lotus Lantern: Rescue Mother below!

Platforms: Nintendo Switch, Steam Retro Mystery Club Vol.1: The Ise-Shima Case (hereafter simply referred to as "Retro Mystery Club") is a murder mystery detective game in the style of a retro 8-bit adventure game. It's developed by Happymeal Inc. and Undercoders, and published by Shinyuden. It's the first in a trilogy of games that originally released on the Nintendo Switch in Japan starting back in 2019. An English-language version finally landed on Western shores this year for Steam and Switch, and we're here to take at a look at it and see if this is a case you're going to want to take on. Why waste any time talking? There's mysteries to solve! By Al Players: 1
Platforms: Nintendo Switch, XBox, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 Shinorubi is a shoot 'em up, bullet hell type game that comes to us by way of Last Boss 88 and Red Art Games. It's releasing soon on just about every console, and we're here to see if it has what it takes to stand out in a rather saturated genre. There's a surprising amount of content to cover here, so let's do away with all the intros and dive into it. We've been following the Tamagotchi-inspired game Yolk Heroes: A Long Tamago for a long time now, and its release is finally just around the corner! You can check out all the latest below, and even wishlist the game on Steam.
Last year we added to our traditional "End of Year" song article by doing one on our favorite video games of the year. Seeing as we've greatly expanded our video game output this year, it only makes sense that we'd do it again! Just about everyone at A-to-J is a gamer to some degree (Then again who isn't?), and we all have some pretty varied tastes when it comes to games. We are a little late with this one, since we are more than a week into 2024, but let's just get into this one already! I guess this means we have another yearly tradition from here on out! Just took the better part of a decade to add! Anyhow, check out our choices below and maybe you can let us know your favorite picks as well!
