June 28, 2022 6:00 PM PDT Hosts: Manuel Nyaru Description: Ultra Podcast Z returns with its original cast just in time for a pre-AX episode! Nyaru and Manuel are both back and talked about what they're looking forward to at Anime Expo since it is days away, as of this episode's YouTube posting everyone should already be on site! Nyaru had a lot of event plans while Manuel was just looking forward to the parties, but is any of that really surprising? There was a lot of discussion here, food plans, past AX recollections, and even dipping our toes a bit into an Anime Expo bingo thing (that didn't really pan out the way we intended). We normally don't do episodes this close to a big convention but seeing as we didn't have a lot of personal projects at AX that we had to prep for, and seeing as we had to cancel a bunch of "normal" episodes recently, we decided to go through with this one, so keep that in mind while we are all fairly tired. That said, it was a pretty on night and we are all excited in our own way for Anime Expo. If you're going to be going to AX this weekend then have fun and be sure to stay safe and hydrated! We'll see everyone in two weeks as we are already sure that the next episode will be skipped as it's so close to the end of AX, but we will be back! September 28, 2021 6:00 PM PDT Hosts: Manuel Photaku JD (Off Screen) Description: Ultra Podcast Z hits 150 episodes and Nyaru is nowhere to be found! We hit yet another milestone but rather than make a big deal about it (we've had a LOT of "anniversary"-type episodes recently and have at least one more coming up) we decided to tackle a topic we surprisingly don't cover much: anime, namely shorter anime series. The premise for this started with discussions about how Manuel doesn't watch much anime and how we'd compile lists for people who want to watch anime but probably don't want to invest days into shows like One Piece, Naruto, etc. Photaku joined us again this week in his first proper episode appearance (not a tier list or game night) and after a rather long discussion about Genshin Impact and more, we got into our lists. This episode features a few more edits than one usually sees in a UPZ so this truly is a "YouTube Version" but we touched on a lot of animes and it was probably for the best that there were only three of us on this one as we would've got even less out probably. There's a lot of suggestions here in a lot of different genres so let us know what you think about our choices, give us some of your own, and maybe we'll cover this topic in a future episode as we definitely left a lot of ones we wanted to discuss off the table. June 29, 2021 6:00 PM PDT Hosts: Manuel Nyaru Pleiades Description: Ultra Podcast Z took an accidental week off but came back with a pretty random episode featuring Pleiades! We had a million little topics to cover on this one but it was always envisioned as a riffing episode with Pleiades without as much form as we usually try for in these kind of things. That said we managed to at least MENTION every small news topic that we wanted from the Tamagotchi Watch to the new Final Fantasy IX animated show. We also had deeper dives into the new (and old) iCarly show and how the internet has changed over the decade it's been on and the death of John McAfee. These are all very different topics from each other and if it seems random well, that's because it is. With that said we tried to keep it interesting and we think we did that. Also now is the time to mention that this video is a mashup of both the live stream version (with JD's active topic changes on the lower left) and Manuel's recording (which had wonky audio this time around) so bear with it as it can get a little rough at times though we think it's still very watchable. There was more covered here but we'd be killing some of the surprises if we just tossed it all in the description, so check it out! June 6, 2019 7:00 PM PDT Hosts: Manuel Molly Tim Description: Ultra Podcast Z returns after nearly a month of inactivity with a rather chill episode featuring Molly and Timtastic! We mainly discussed FanimeCon 2019 and our prep leading up to Anime Expo 2019, but we had a lot to dicuss in between! We spent an awful lot of time talking about hentai, eroge, and JAV, specifically "Bible Black" and the possibility of a JAV Cinematic Universe! We also spent a lot of time talking about swatstikas in popular Japanese media in relation to a recent panel we did and we had a similarly long side discussion. Anyhow, this one is very lowkey and chill and we also featured a cat and some live cosplay work from Molly! Joining us from Relentless Weebs & Bombshell Media is Shelby and from the J-Fashion world comes Haro! There was a lot of randomness here, but even though we didn't have an outline to speak of at all, we really kept it going and didn't really falter. Small notes to the Game of Thrones Houses as Anime Convention thing probably going on a little longer than it should've, but that was still fun and the infamous Season 8 Episode 5 was still fresh on our minds. Even though the topic outline isn't totally accurate, you can use that to skip to where you want to go, but this episode is probably best consumed as a whole!
