By Badman  Check your clocks. It’s about that time again. What time..? It’s motherf**king weekly J-Metal review time! The band I pulled from the vault is another legendary 80s band hailing from the heart of Japan...Tokyo! They hit the Kensai scene with the book of the occult in one hand, and the power of supersonic steel in the other. Their enthralling presence easily made them a mainstay like no other. Just like their prominent Kensai contemporaries, they are influential, heavy-hitting pioneers. Who are these boys? They are the devilish Sabbrabells! So strap your happy asses into your seats because we are going pedal to Metal (pun intended)! Onward we ride forth to Sabbrabells’s debut album: "Sabbrabells"!
 We've had the pleasure to sit down and talk with ACME a couple times in the past (with interviews that can be found HERE and HERE) and we're sure that we'd have had an opportunity to do so again in 2020 if not for the current, ongoing worldwide pandemic. A trying year for everyone around the world, ACME, like countless bands around the world, pulled through it as best they could and would round out the year with a rather interesting song in the form of "RISING SUN". Let's take a closer look at both this song, its MV, and even close out with a discussion about the song with the band themselves!

 R!N, the vocalist of the all-female metal band “Aldious”, and a vocalist who participated in Hiroyuki Sawano’s vocal project "SawanoHiroyuki[nZk]" under the name “Gemie” singing for multiple iterations of the anime “Attack on Titan”, recently announced that she will restart her activities as a singer and songwriter on February 1.
 Visual Kei band XANVALA recently released their latest single, titled "Janome" on January 29, 2021. With this release XANVALA has returned to their dark and ferocious facet seen in their earlier work.

Well, it's time to find the hell out! Unlike this band’s contemporaries who came from the famous Kensai and Kanto prefectures, this band’s roots came from an unlikely region: Hokkaido. To be more specific, the city of Sapporo. They are one the few bands, like LOUDNESS, who gained traction in the US in the mid 80s with their kickass debut album. But unlike LOUDNESS, their music was much darker and more raw. Who are the band of metallic warriors…? I present to you the trailblazers of Sapporo, EZO (letters pronounced individually) and their debut album "E•Z•O"!

This week we have another heavy hitting band. In many Japanese Metal circles, they are held in high regard alongside the likes of other pioneering J-Metal bands: LOUDNESS, ANTHEM,and EZO. Hailing from the infamous Kansai (Osaka) Metal scene is the one-and-only 44MAGNUM! Don’t turn your ears away from these boys because there are some kickass tracks to be heard!
 Japanese Nu-Metal band CHOKE recently released their new digital single "Hack to the basic" on January 15, 2021. While their last single "The Human Anthem" was an exhilarating ride that featured an aggressive sound with a metalcore approach, CHOKE are back to their Nu-Metal roots and evoke a groovy and exciting mood with the song “Hack to the basic”.
