Back in 2011, the GazettE released the first volume of “TRACES”, which was a Best of Album of the years 2005-2009. Now, five years later, they announced their release of “TRACES Vol 2” as a Ballad Best Album to help celebrate their fifteen years as a band. There is a twist to this, as it won’t be your regular compilation CD. In fact, the band members will be remastering each of the twelve songs, bringing together their young, indie days with their newer, more matured selves. There are two versions of the CD, a limited edition which consists of all 12 tracks and a digital pack, and then a regular edition with only 10 tracks. It is to be released March 8, 2017 with songs including Taion, Guren, D.L.N, and more! Though often classified as a visual rock band, their music style mainly follows the alternative genre with new-wave and shoegaze influences.
Plastic Tree’s front man and backup guitarist Ryutaro Arimura has recently made his solo debut with his mini album release titled: “デも/demo”! デも/demo is made up of Ryutaro’s personal, unpublished work spanning from 1996 to 2013. To give life to this unpublished music, he collaborated with Hirofumi Hatano of People in The Box who worked on the arrangements for the mini album! Other guest musicians include Yusuke Kobayashi (The Novembers), Toriishi Ryouta , and Takaga Ryousuke (chouchou merged syrups). Months after the appearance of YouTube Red, music videos from multiple artists including the GazettE have been unavailable for certain regions. While their official YouTube account (GazettESMEJ) is still up and available, the GazettE has created a VEVO account for their overseas fan-base to avoid those view restrictions. Currently, there are ten music videos uploaded ranging from their 2011 release of “VORTEX” to their 2015 release of “DOGMA.”
In order to view the videos, they have to be accessed directly from the official VEVO website or app. Viewing their VEVO account from YouTube will still have restrictions based on your country. Now that there’s access to their music videos again, hopefully more will be uploaded throughout time. Enjoy!
