Wanting to show off your love of Visual Kei isn’t always so easy when you’re an overseas fan with a lack of ability to buy merchandise to rep your favorite band. Well, we can help you out with that!
BugLug is back in action! On January 7th, the band made a surprise appearance alongside other visual kei bands at Tokyo Dome City Hall. The five-member group had slowed down on their activities since vocalist Issei’s head-injury incident back in May of 2016. Now fully recovered, Issei displayed his restored energy, and treated fans to another breakthrough announcement: BugLug will be performing at the famous Nippon Budokan on May 7th, 2017, a year after the accident. Furthermore, the band will release a best album, “Zesshou ~Best of BugLug~” on April 5th of this year. 2017 has gifted double the miracle for this group, as this upcoming performance will be a remarkable point in their history.
-Claudia On December 21 LM.C dropped their new album “VEDA”. Beginning with the song “THE BUDDHA” with an exotic and fast-paced percussion section it’s hard not to be drawn in from the first note. This song is difficult not to sing along to and I found myself dancing along a bit! Aiji does a few of the vocals and his voice is a good contrast to Maya’s, and a little past the halfway mark features Maya’s rapping skills and reminds me of Oh My Juliet.
Though the last three tracks are a bit laid back compared to the other songs, the whole album is upbeat and fun, featuring fast beats, heavy bass, and Maya’s raspy vocals. Here’s where you can buy it! -Kelsey |
