Callie and Kyuu were never set to present, but not being able to see Pleiades presentation was something of a downer and hopefully he'll be able to present after our two-week break. Elsewhere Yuji joined us for the first time and Warren went really random with a journey through his various hairstyles. Manuel talked RPGs and if you're interested in joining in a campaign for any of these, be sure to drop a message or comment. Probably the shortest DTL we've done since the very earliest days, this one is still packed with fun, energy, and randomness. And the second and third presentations were long enough to drag this one past three hours even with the technical difficulties that caused us to end early. Here's the twenty-sixth episode of our "Drink Talk Learn" streams and it's a special holiday episode! We were actually talking about skipping this week but with so many other missed November streams we chose to carry on and have it even though it was rather close to Thanksgiving. With that in mind there were a few weird ones here with Molly still missing, another four-person +Kyuu (who still didn't present) leading to another under four hour stream, and Callie's Mom doing a presentation instead of Callie herself. Speaking of the latter, the live version of this DTL was actually very spotty and we've edited this version a bit to make it easier to watch as the stream was very spotty at times. If you soldiered on live, thank you, if not, then you now have a mostly intact version (though still recorded from Callie's sometimes spotty side) where you can watch with no interruptions. Also, watch for Callie vibin and random AC/DC references. Elsewhere there were some randomness during presentations with a very drunk Callie and a pre-drunk Pleiades, so be sure to check it out! Next week should return to something of normality as November has always proven to be a tough month for the consistency of our live shows (probably owing to always having such a steady schedule for October) so keep an eye out for that! Weirdly though, this one only saw four presentations (the first time we've ever had this low a number) with Kyuu sitting in just for funsies. We had a lot of fun though with Warren revisiting a popular presentation with a new section, Manuel redoing the budaixi presentation with somewhat better presentation and with a bigger audience, Callie continuing her "Becoming A VTuber" presentation (she technically already redid a presentation a few weeks ago), and Pleiades redoing a very recent presentation on Serial Experiments Lain with a longer ending section. First of all, this was recorded on Halloween so there was a lot of spoopy fun all around. We were joined by Geoff and Kyuu in this one and even though Pleiades was on board, we chose to cut out his presentation for the final version. Before we get to that though, we had a lot of fun with this one and we were all dressed up in some fashion since Halloween isn't really a thing this year due to the pandemic. It almost went full circle as Molly did her "Story of Evil Hill" presentation without the pain of the hell noodles, Manuel finally covered ouija boards, and Warren wrapped up his discussion on Hmong culture. Geoff and Kyuu took more personal routes, but their presentations were fun too. That said, we not only cut out Pleiades presentation (and the real ending of the stream) so we decided to film a new one and tacked it onto the end, hence the delay. Don't overthink it too much though, just watch and enjoy and pray that Pleiades and the others come back from being lost in the spoopy woods! We decided early on that this was going to be a "chill" and "easy" show since we only had five hosts, we were all regulars, and we had all put together presentations that we felt we could present relatively quickly. This started the idea that we would finish around 10 PM Pacific (making the show about four hours and we actually hit this) but the show became a little cursed as we kept trying to squeeze that time closer to the 9 PM mark. There was very little in-between banter as there was Timer-chan checking in on us there and we're not sure if this is something that we're going to continue from here on. That said we DID move fast through a lot of presentations and were making really good time until we hit Molly's presentation that faced a lot of technical difficulties. Callie also left at this point to catch another live stream and Pleiades moved into a presentation that was quite drawn out probably due to his sobriety. Molly's presentation also hit some snags as she was once again doing the Hell Noodles and couldn't really speak during it. That said, not all weeks are hits but there was fun to be had here and Molly will be re-presenting her presentation this week! So enjoy! It's also finally officially Spooptober so we're trying to include more "spooky" topics into the DTLs where we can! ALSO ALSO, due to continued hosts not being available this week (namely Callie and Pleiades, the latter missing an episode for the first time) we took on two new people, Matthew and Eddie! They definitely did an amazing job for first timers and even though we don't vote for winners anymore, it's fair to say that they'd be way up there. Matthew talked about little sister anime which was a WILD topic to be covering when we got a raid from Nyaru (who hosts Ultra Podcast Z!) and we even got a bunch of gifted subs during that. Crazy stuff. Eddie talked about metal music with an emphasis towards singing which was quite awesome and elsewhere we had presentations on Ghost Stories (that anime with the wild af dub), scary horror movies (at least to a young Warren!), a game show featuring strange animal mating habits, and Peruvian cryptids! That latter one was awesome though as the "pishtaco" jokes write themselves and llama-man (read: the "jarjacha") was wild too! Anyway, check it out and stay safe and spoopy!
