 It's been many years in the making but Kingdom Hearts III is finally on the verge of being released! In anticipation of this Hikaru Utada's original song for the game, "Face My Fears", is available today!
2018 was a good, but rough, year for A-to-J Connections and it shows in our favorite songs of the year article which is now coming out a week into 2019! Late or not though, this is a yearly tradition that we were determined to get out and while 2018 was truly a year where we expanded a lot into new fields, it also proved to be one where things didn't always come out in as timely a manner as we initially hoped! Anyhow, we had a lot of fun listening to all sorts of new Japanese music this year and as always this list represents a wide mix of genres and styles from several active A-to-J staff members! Without further ado let's jump into this look into some of the sounds of 2018!
PIKOTARO is back in the spotlight again and you can see him in the recent advert for Hungry Jack’s, an Australian burger chain that has over 400 locations in Australia, and it's getting major attention!
 Internationally renowned singer-songwriter Hikaru Utada and eight-time Grammy Award winner Skrillex lend their talents to the opening movie of Kingdom Hearts III, the highly anticipated latest entry in the long-running, fan favorite series from Square Enix and Disney.
 Perfume is proud to announce their biggest international tour yet, hitting up Taiwan, Shanghai, Canada, and the US!
 PIKOTARO, famous for the viral song PPAP, shows no signs of slowing down and there have been several new projects and announcements recently!
 Japanese trauma techno pop band URBANGARDE has announced the release date of the their next album, Ai to Gensou no URBANGARDE (“URBANGARDE of Love and Fantasy”). Due for release on November 21, 2018, the first-press limited edition of the album will also contain the DVD of URBANGARDE’s 10th anniversary concert “KEKKON SHIKI” recorded live at Nakano Sun Plaza on April 8th.
 We've been seeing a lot of GARNiDELiA over the years and have had the joy to catch them live several times in the US, including most recently at A-Kon 2018. We recently got the opportunity to interview this amazing duo and we are very excited to bring it to all of you now! We discussed everything from their formation to their recent releases and heavy emphasis on dance! Be sure to check it out!
GARNiDELiA is a Japanese pop-rock/dance duo, consisting of vocalist MARiA and a composer toku. GARNiDELiA made their major label debut in March 2014 with a smash hit single “ambiguous”. Since then the duo has released nine singles, one digital-single, and three albums to date. In January 2018, GARNiDELiA released their latest single “Error”, which is featured as the theme song of the TV anime series “BEATLESS”, and their latest album entitled “G.R.N.D.” was released on March 28th this year.  Chaotic Harmony is proud to present haru, formerly of the band universe, at PMX in Glendale, CA and NekoCon in Hampton, VA. PMX is scheduled to be held Oct. 27-28, 2018, and NekoCon will be held the following weekend on Nov. 2-4, 2018. While at both conventions, haru will perform live in concert, as well as host a Q&A panel and hold autograph sessions.
