We've been hearing a lot about Mio Yamazaki lately here at A-to-J Connections and we recently reviewed their second full-length album, "choice". (That review can be found HERE.) Since we were becoming so familiar with their music we jumped at the chance for an interview and we're happy to share it with you all! Mio Yamazaki have a very interesting sound that we think can appeal to listeners here in the US and we hope this interview helps you fall in love with this amazing group!
Mio Yamazaki formed in 2013, but arguably their star rose in 2017 thanks to their breakout single "Noise" released last year. It was used as the opening theme for the fourth season of "Jigoku Shoujo/Hell Girl". Even though the name implies a solo performer, Mio Yamazaki is indeed a four-piece band whose name of course does come from the group's vocalist, Mio. Mio Yamazaki released their first full album, "anti-these", in 2016 and followed it up with "choice" last October. There music can also be heard in the application "Maji Yami Kanjojo" and a twitter drama series. Fans of Aina The End (BiSH) will have cause to rejoice as MONDO GROSSO recently released an MV for "Itsuwari no Sympathy", a song which was released last February, which shows a side of Aina that may come as a surprise to many.
The end of Spring will see the disbandment of Kalafina according to a recent report. While it has been speculated that the group's end would be coming soon, the suddenness of the announcement is still comes as a shock.
US fans of Kyary Pamyu Pamyu will have reason to celebrate this summer as she recently announced a new tour that includes dates in New York, San Francisco, and Los Angeles!
