Hot on the heels of the announcement that they'd be performing at this year's Anime Central in Chicago, IL, we had the opportunity to interview the band fhána! Known for providing several songs that are instantly recognizable to fans of anime everywhere, we were excited to discuss everything from their formation to their thoughts on how to keep a band together after so many years. If you're a longtime fan of their work, or even if just got to know them through their appearance at ACen, then this interview is for you!
fhána is a four-person unit consisting of three male sound producers, Junichi Sato, yuxuki waga, kevin mitsunaga and the female vocalist, towana. They made their major debut by releasing “Que Sera, Sera” (Ending Theme of TV anime ”The Eccentric Family”) in August 2013. They were elected for “iTunes NEW ARTISTS 2014” in the brightest newcomer category. fhána released their 13th Single “Watashi no Tame no Monogatari ~My Uncompleted Story~” in January 2018, which was used as the opening theme for the anime series "Märchen Mädchen." Released in January 2017 as the theme song for the anime Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid, fhána's 10th single "Aozora no Rhapsody" exceeds 18 million views on YouTube. The unit also performs around the world and actively produces work with other artists. |
