Artist, producer, and BMSG CEO SKY-HI recently dropped his latest single, titled “At The Last”, and you can check out all the latest details regarding, and even links to check it out for yourself, below!
“At The Last” marks the fifth single from his forthcoming final rap album, “Success Is The Best Revenge” — a culmination of his journey as a solo rapper and a bold statement of his evolving legacy. Produced by Ryosuke “Dr. R” Sakai, with composer Daisuke Nakamura also contributing, “At The Last” is a powerful, emotionally charged anthem. Set against a gritty, alternative beat, the track blends SKY-HI’s signature technical rap with raw, melodic vocals to deliver a soul-stirring message: in a world that often mocks idealism, there’s strength in believing in dreams — and in choosing to live by them.

The single also serves as the official theme song for “THE LAST PIECE”, the new audition project led by SKY-HI and BMSG in partnership with TBS, following the success of BE:FIRST and MAZZEL. The project aims to discover and debut the third BMSG boy group, with the theme song setting the tone for the entire journey.

About "THE LAST PIECE” Audition Project
Beginning June 27, "THE LAST PIECE” will be featured every Friday morning on TBS’s THE TIME, 5:20-8:00 JST, and the full audition episodes will stream every Friday at 20:00 JST via the BMSG Official YouTube Channel.

Additionally, a weekly companion show, “THE LAST PIECE HOMEROOM” hosted by Miyuki Oshima, will begin airing every Thursday, starting 3 July, at 00:59 JST on TBS.

A new collaboration track is always big news, and there's a big one to take a look at today! All the details on SIRUP's new single, “UNDERCOVER feat. Ayumu Imazu”, can be found below, including links to check it out for yourself!
What happens when two of Japan’s most genre-defying voices step into the same room? You get “UNDERCOVER feat. Ayumu Imazu”, a slick, stylish R&B cut that hits hard and lingers long after the beat fades. Out now on all platforms, this is the first official collaboration between SIRUP and Ayumu Imazu, and it doesn’t hold back.

Produced by Taka Perry, “UNDERCOVER” slips between the lines of our digital lives – the faces we show, the ones we hide – and sets that tension to a hypnotic groove. SIRUP’s effortless vocals meet Ayumu’s smooth bilingual flow, creating a late-night anthem for the double life we all live online and IRL.

The music video is also worth taking a look at too. Directed by Daiki Kamoshita, it’s cinematic, action-packed, and full of duality. Saori Izawa (known for stunt work in Kingdom and Rurouni Kenshin) brings sharp fight choreography, while Ayumu himself steps in as choreographer for the final dance – a mirror-like showdown that brings it all home. It’s sleek. It’s sharp. It’s UNDERCOVER. And it’s proof that when the right artists connect, the result isn’t just a song, it’s a whole world.

<![CDATA[PIKOTARO Returns with Wild New Single: “CHANCHANKO KANREKI60”]]>Wed, 11 Jun 2025 07:00:00 GMThttp://a-to-jconnections.com/music/pikotaro-returns-with-wild-new-single-chanchanko-kanreki60
PIKOTARO, the global internet sensation behind “PPAP”, recently released a wild new music video that’s equal parts celebration, chaos, and cutting-edge technology. Details on this release, as well as links to its MV, can be found below!
This latest single, titled “CHANCHANKO KANREKI60”, written for NHK’s beloved program “Minna no Uta みんなのうた” (airing June through July 2025), is now streaming worldwide. The accompanying video is also already making waves for all the right – and delightfully bizarre – reasons.

Directed by PIKOTARO’s creator and comedic alter ego Kosaka Daimaou, the music video was developed in collaboration with AI video creators and powered by generative AI tools, delivering a psychedelic visual experience unlike anything fans have seen before. Within just a few minutes, viewers are treated to the sight of PIKOTARO flying majestically through the sky, transforming into a Godzilla-sized version of himself, and leading an estimated 50,000 people dressed in traditional red chanchanko vests in a jubilant dance. It’s weird, wonderful, and unmistakably PIKOTARO.

The track and video celebrate kanreki, the traditional Japanese 60th birthday milestone that symbolises the completion of the zodiac cycle and the start of a new life stage. In Japan, it’s customary to wear a red chanchanko, a sleeveless padded vest, as a symbol of “being reborn”, returning to one’s infancy in spirit. “CHANCHANKO KANREKI60” reimagines this heartfelt cultural moment through the lens of absurdist humour and high-tech spectacle, bridging generations with laughter and levity.

PIKOTARO shared his excitement about the release: “The new MV for Minna no Uta is finally done – Piko! Kosaka Daimaou did most of the heavy lifting – he’s a strong one! We’ve never used AI this much in a video before, Piko!? Let’s celebrate all the 60-year-olds in our lives – with humans, machines, the world, and our families – Pi!!”

This project marks a bold evolution in PIKOTARO’s creative journey – melding traditional Japanese values with 21st-century tech. It’s a love letter to elders, a digital fever dream, and a viral hit in the making.

Additional Background Information
■ Kanreki (還暦)
Kanreki is a traditional Japanese celebration for a person’s 60th birthday. Sixty marks a full cycle in the traditional calendar and is considered a time of rebirth, a symbolic new beginning. It’s a meaningful occasion often celebrated with family and friends.

■ Chanchanko (ちゃんちゃんこ)
A chanchanko is a traditional sleeveless vest worn in Japan, often padded and used for warmth indoors. For kanreki, it is customary to wear a red chanchanko, symbolising a return to infancy and a fresh start in life.

<![CDATA[Che’Nelle & Da-iCE’s Sota Hanamura Unite In Powerhouse Duet: “I’ll be by your side”]]>Wed, 11 Jun 2025 07:00:00 GMThttp://a-to-jconnections.com/music/chenelle-da-ices-sota-hanamura-unite-in-powerhouse-duet-ill-be-by-your-side
Che’Nelle, the globally celebrated singer-songwriter, has joined forces for the first time with Sota Hanamura of hit J-pop group Da-iCE for a powerful new duet: “I’ll be by your side”. Details on this release, as well as links to check it out for yourself, can be found below.
The emotionally charged ballad is already making waves as the official ending theme for Fuji TV’s morning show “San! Shine” throughout June and July. A seamless blend of Che’Nelle’s soulful delivery and Hanamura’s soaring four-octave range, “I’ll be by your side” is more than a love song – it’s a message of unity, empathy, and shared emotion that transcends borders, gender, and culture. Singing about overcoming differences and walking into the future together, the track’s universal message is elevated by the real chemistry between the two vocalists.

Che’Nelle was inspired to collaborate after seeing Hanamura perform on a TV show last year. “It was truly amazing to sing this song with someone who has such a powerful voice like Sota,” she said. “He’s not just a brilliant vocalist – he’s a performer with real presence. The whole experience was fun and inspiring, and I’m so grateful for it. I can’t wait to see how the song touches people’s hearts.”

For Hanamura, the collaboration was an opportunity to grow: “Working with Che’Nelle gave me a chance to reflect on my voice again,” he said. “She’s an incredible singer, and I gave it everything I had to match her passion.”

Produced by EIGO, the hitmaker behind Che’Nelle’s iconic “Believe”, the song combines timeless balladry with a modern, cinematic sound. The music video also showcases the chemistry between the two artists in an elegant, emotional visual narrative.
