Kalafina Announces Disbandment

The end of Spring will see the disbandment of Kalafina according to a recent report. While it has been speculated that the group's end would be coming soon, the suddenness of the announcement is still comes as a shock.

This announcement comes after the departure of Yuki Kajiura from the group's label last month. At that time it was assumed that the group's disbandment would soon follow as Yuki Kajiura was not only the group's creator and composer, but was also in charge of the group's direction in general. After some discussion within the group the decision was officially made and in a somewhat shocking move it was announced following their live on March 11. This means that this show is now to the group's final live even if it was announced as such after the fact. No more releases or shows will follow.

Kalafina will continue to appear on the bayfm radio show "Kalafina Club", which airs on Tuesdays, until the end of the month when that too will end.

While the trio will be going their separate ways they have had an amazing output of music since their formation in 2007 and they leave behind a great musical legacy with fans all around the world.
