There is a charm about small southern conventions that, honestly, I do not think can be replicated! From young anime fans running around excitedly meeting internet friends to adults sharing a subculture they love with their own children - I think the variety of people who go to conventions has grown and expanded so much throughout my short time at conventions. Anime Festival Orlando, (AFO), was started back in 2000 and has been a strong contender in the Florida Anime Convention scene since!
While the con brings a small crowd, there is plenty of activities packed in the span of 3 anime-filled days*! From the Happy Happy Go Go Cosplay Contest, to the game room, to fan panels, I was excited to experience what this con had in store for me~! Temperatures over 100°+ did not stop all the action at Anime Expo 2018 July 5th- - 8th at the L.A. Convention center There were over 150 industry guest and 524 exhibitors. From concerts, cosplays, panels to 20 world premiers there was plenty to see and do. 110,000 attendees from over 70 countries attended visited the venue which was managed much better than last year by implementing organizational improvements such as pre-mailing badges and increasing the number of secured entry points.
SacAnime kicked off the New Year with yet another amazing convention! Tons of panels and events keep the attendees waiting for the next time SacAnime rolls around. Whether you're a video game, anime, idol fan, or just a casual attendee, this event offers plenty of fun! Thousands of anime, pop culture, gaming fans, and more gathered for this year’s SacAnime Summer convention, making it one of California’s largest anime conventions this year. The event garnered big celebrities, such as Zach Callison, the voice of Steven from Steven Universe, John Ratzenberger, a voice actor from every pixar movie, notably “Cheers,” and other actors to participate in photo ops and signings for all excited fans! The convention also offered a wide array of events covering near all interests of convention fans. The event features two versions of gaming, tabletop gaming and video gaming. Dance battles, lessons, an Electronic Dance, and the Starlight Ball. Don’t worry about going alone either: the convention offers speed dating to those who seek a partner with similar interests.
