 Crunchyroll Expo 2020 is going virtual and all the fun and awesomeness is right around the corner! This weekend to be exact! (September 4-6) The schedule is quite impressive, and there are more guests and special events than we can even begin to discuss here. With that in mind we had the opportunity to talk to a few of the many upcoming guests and these mini interviews and their event schedule can be found below! We assure you that this isn't the last word we're going to have on this amazing event!

Aniplex of America is thrilled to announce the first ever Aniplex Online Fest streaming July 4 – July 5, 2020 on YouTube with Sally Amaki of 22/7 (nanabun no nijyuuni) serving as the emcee for the English version of the special two-day event.
By Ivan Aburto  The recent public health situation has seen several online events and conventions replace the in-person ones that were forced to cancel. Last weekend saw "Anime Lockdown 2020" go live.
This first year virtual con streamed on Twitch.tv. There was also a discord server for fans to gather and talk about various subjects as well as displaying their cosplays. The discord server had many vendors who are going through difficult times due to convention cancellations.. The panels averaged a few hundred to over 800 viewers on twitch, which ran very smoothly.  Anime Expo is just around the corner, with only a month to go and they dropped a huge Guest of Honor announcement today! Katsuhiro Otomo, the legend behind AKIRA and more, will be attending Anime Expo 2019!
 We recently got to attend Fan Expo Dallas, the DFW area's premiere pop culture convention!
Creator of "Ouran High School Host Club", Bisco Hatori, Announced as Anime Expo Guest of Honor5/14/2019  It's that time of year where we're waiting with bated breath for Anime Expo guest announcements and VIZ is bring a big one with manga creator Bisco Hatori, who was recently announced as an official Guest of Honor at this year’s Anime Expo.
 Ikkicon, held around the year's end in Austin, Texas, is also home to the Texas Idol Festival, a celebration of Japanese-influenced idol singers and groups from across the state. A good, medium sized convention, Ikkicon drew attendees from Texas and beyond, as a last hurrah con of the year.
 Date: Friday August 17, 2018 Time: 8:30-10:00 PM Location: LP1 (Pasadena Ballroom) Hosts: Manuel, Kaz, Eunice Join A-to-J Connections as we take a look at the Visual Kei scene and how it has evolved in the new millennium. Along with history of the genre, we will also delve into the evolution of bands like DIR EN GREY and the GazettE as well as look into current big stars like Pentagon, Kiryu, Vivarush, and more! We will also take a look at the impact Visual Kei has had on the music scene around the world and discuss what the future holds for this hard-to-define "genre". Fun for both fans and newcomers alike!  There is a charm about small southern conventions that, honestly, I do not think can be replicated! From young anime fans running around excitedly meeting internet friends to adults sharing a subculture they love with their own children - I think the variety of people who go to conventions has grown and expanded so much throughout my short time at conventions. Anime Festival Orlando, (AFO), was started back in 2000 and has been a strong contender in the Florida Anime Convention scene since!
While the con brings a small crowd, there is plenty of activities packed in the span of 3 anime-filled days*! From the Happy Happy Go Go Cosplay Contest, to the game room, to fan panels, I was excited to experience what this con had in store for me~! |
