SacAnime kicked off the New Year with yet another amazing convention! Tons of panels and events keep the attendees waiting for the next time SacAnime rolls around. Whether you're a video game, anime, idol fan, or just a casual attendee, this event offers plenty of fun! For a brief recap of some events, continue reading, but for more full coverage of some panels, click HERE. The Cosplay Masquerade is a great environment for those looking to see amazing cosplays and impressive performances. Ten awards were given out to the group and solo acts who most impressed the judges and audience. Acts of martial arts and flips, scene recreations, dances, poses meant for photo-ops, and more were featured. For anyone looking to rest their feet while having a great time, this panel is perfect! The group who won best in show is pictured below. For more proof as to why this group’s award was well earned, check out their Instagrams: @kineticcosplays, @dye_cast_daisies, and @proud2bnili. Another great panel featured a recurring SacAnime guest, the voice actor for many beloved Nintendo characters (including Mario), Charles Martinet. Fans were able to ask Mr. Martinet their most pressing questions in this Q&A panel, many of which were about the amazing Waluigi. Nintendo fans, be sure to make it to this panel for a relaxed, fun environment to not only have questions answered, but to hear the experiences of a passionate man. The most outstanding events of the con, however great the others were, was the concert and the dance workshop. Dancing dolls, Mirei, and Gemini gave an outstanding performance! Such a great performance that Gemini earned himself a lovely bouquet of flowers and a pair of panties from the crowd. Soon after, the entire crowd was wet (with water, of course). The stage also fell victim to his splashing water, and the backstage crew had to wipe the floor before the Japanese singers and dancers were able to perform. Every performance was filled with such high energy and talent, that this event alone makes attending the con worth it. The dance workshop, held by the two Dancing Dolls and Mirei, was a great interactive experience. People of every experience level who were interested in learning a Kpop dance excelled at the instruction of Misaki. This dance panel was a great addition to the con, and with hopes, it may return next year. SacAnime never fails to entertain, and we look forward to covering many more in the future.
