By Rose It's time for a whole new season of Suletta Sundays! After the shockingly bloody finale to Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch From Mercury's first season, fans have been anxious to see what comes next for Suletta Mercury, Miorine Rembran, and the rest of the mecha show's beloved cast of characters. We're here to clear up any confusion and share all the information we have about the next season. When does season 2 air?Season 2 of The Witch From Mercury will begin streaming on Sunday, April 9th, at 6:00 PM (JST). The season is slated to last for 12 episodes, bringing the series total to 24, including the first season's prologue "episode 0." Where can you watch it?The Witch From Mercury's second season will be available to western audiences as soon as it airs in Japan, via Crunchyroll's simulcast program. Those without a Crunchyroll subscription will have to wait until the show airs on the Gundam Info YouTube channel, slated to begin sometime in July, after the season has finished its initial run. That YouTube channel is also currently hosting the entire first season for free, for those who haven't seen it yet or just want to refresh their memory before the second season airs next week. Who will be performing the opening and ending themes?Though electro-pop superduo YOASOBI found wide success with "Shukufuku/The Blessing," the first season's opening theme, it has been announced that they will not be returning for the second season. Instead, the opening song will be the as-yet unreleased "slash," performed by pop singer yama. yama is probably best known for her recent themes for shows such as SPY×FAMILY, Ranking of Kings, and the Urusei Yatsura remake. The ending theme for season 2 has not yet been announced, though it's safe to assume the first season's ending "Kimi yo Kedakaku Are/You Be Noble," performed by singer Shiyui and supercell's Ryo, will not be returning. Is there a trailer? There is! A promotional video for The Witch From Mercury's second season, featuring a short snippet of yama's "slash," can be viewed (without subtitles) below. Viewer beware: if you haven't gotten caught up on the first season yet, there are some mild spoilers present in the second season trailer. Will there be a season 3?There has been no news of a third season of The Witch From Mercury, and at this time the series is slated to end with the 24th episode. While mainline Mobile Suit Gundam entries traditionally run for somewhere around 50 episodes, a shorter run is not unheard of; 2014's Reconguista in G ran for only one season of 26 episodes.
