It's Time For Monster Hunter Siege

You heard right but let’s not confuse it with the Larry Correia books. The Kulve Taroth Siege is a new type of quest in Monster Hunter World. It is up and running as of today, April 19th. Here is the info you need to know about doing this special event.

First, you need to complete the main campaign/reach Hunter Rank 16, for those that have been playing since release that shouldn’t be an issue. Afterwards, you’ll need to gather Kulve Taroth's Golden Scales in Optional Quests and Expeditions. Any map will do, but going through the Ancient Forest will be the quickest. After that nonsense, The Admiral will approach you upon returning and give you’re the special assignment: The Special Investigation - Banquet in the Earthen Hall. This will only be available to accept in the Gathering Hub; you must have retrieved a scale to join a Siege.

Here is some info concerning the quest without giving anything away in its entirely:

This is an event that is scaled to have a total of sixteen hunters. You can do it with less, but it will be very difficult. Furthermore it is impossible to kill the Kulve Taroth. The objective of the mission is to destroy its horns before it flees. Once all of the horns are destroyed, the mission will be a success. There is a point system as well. The more points you get, the more luxurious the end reward will be.

Here is a breakdown of the point system:
- 4th Area Reached - 60
- 3rd Area Reached - 40
- 2nd Area Reached - 20
- Kulve Taroth Released - 90
- Giant Horns Completely Broken - 500
- Giant Horns Chipped - 150
- Horn Gold Plating Broken - 120
- Tail Broken - 120
- Right Foreleg Gold Plating Broken - 90
- Left Foreleg Gold Plating Broken - 90
- Right Chest Gold Plating Broken - 60
- Left Chest Gold Plating Broken - 60
- Right Hindleg Gold Plating Broken - 30
- Tail Right Gold Plating Broken - 30
- Left Hindleg Gold Plating Broken - 30
- Tail Left Gold Plating Broken - 30
- Pursuit Level 6 Reached - 90
- Pursuit Level 4 Reached - 40
- Pursuit Level 2 Reached – 20
