Platforms: PC There was a time at A-to-J when most of the games we reviewed were visual novels, some of those being eroge. It's been a while since we've looked at a release from MangaGamer, but we're going to change that today! Uchikano: Living With My Lovers is an 18+ kinetic novel (meaning that there are no choices in the game) released on Steam that is the third part of a trilogy, though no knowledge of the previous games is required for this one. It released earlier this year and we're going to dive into this one and see if our long-awaited return to MangaGamer localized releases was worth the wait! (Note: While this is a review of an 18+ game, there will be 18+ content in this review.) Fans of classic RPGs will want to keep an on the upcoming release of The Legend of Legacy HD Remastered, which was just announced to be coming to consoled and PC early next year by way of NIS America. Previously released on the 3DS in 2015, this is definitely a title we're excited to see and you can read more about it below!

Platforms: Nintendo Switch, XBox, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, PC Have you ever wanted to play a beat 'em up game but felt that playing as a rodent would make for the absolutely best experience? Well Niemi Bros. Entertainment and QUByte Interactive have brought you just that game in the form of Chipmonk! (Note: The "!" is part of the title, but I'll be leaving it off from here on.) This rather unique take on the genre is set to release on consoles soon, and we're going to take a look at it and see if this furry adventure is one that you're going to want to go on! Platforms: Nintendo Switch, XBox, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, PC Another Crusade is a 3D puppet-style, turn-based RPG set in a terrarium-like fantasy world. A hero has just returned from a major war between humans and monsters, having just beaten the Dragon King, when suddenly he spots something in the distance. Rai Reysend, our main protagonist, runs to see what is happening. There are barriers popping up all over the world and, in an effort to make it back home, Rai must bring down these barriers and figure out what has caused them. Along the way Rai will befriend a range of characters, from a past enemy to someone who is considered a traitor amongst his own people. The difference between religions of the world become blurred, and human and creature tensions are at an all-time high. Not just one hero, but this time a group of heroes must save the world and return their lands back to their former glory. The price is steep, both literally and figuratively. Is Another Crusade another Super Mario RPG clone, or is it enough to stand on its own as a potential love letter to the game? Well, we will have to find out in Dragon Vein Studios’ first ever video game: Another Crusade. By Manuel Players: 1-2
Platforms: Nintendo Switch, XBox, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, PC Raiden III x MIKADO MANIAX is an enhanced version of Raiden III, a vertical scrolling shooter that first appeared in arcades and the PlayStation 2 in 2005. This new version is now available on consoles and PC by way of NIS America, and features several upgrades. It's still a rather old game and has the odd distinction of releasing after its updated sequel, Raiden IV x MIKADO remix, which got similar treatment on consoles and PC previously. (You can see our review for that game HERE!) How does this game stand up to that release? Has time been kind to it? Is it a classic of the genre or one that players can skip? We'll answer all those questions and more as we dive into the game! By Teepu Player(s): 1
Platforms: PC, Nintendo Switch In a world flooded with kinetic visual novels to choose from, it’s always challenging to decide which ones are worth your time. A tale of a town of ghosts trying to find their place and reason for still existing, ghostpia Season One explores a very interesting story that takes you down some interesting twists. NIS America has been spoiling us with new Trails games coming out in rapid succession over the past two years, and they have one more on the horizon. The Legend of Heroes: Trails through Daybreak is arriving in the West for the first time next Summer and we're now very close to being fully caught up with the Japanese Trails releases! Details on the upcoming release can be found below!
Announcements of new visual novels aren't exactly big news, but we have one that is both episodic and cyberpunk-themed. Enter Gods of the Twilight, a cyberpunk visual novel where old Norse magic returns to a futuristic, decaying world approaching Ragnarök. The first five chapters will be available in Steam Early Access for Windows PC, Mac, and Linux on November 14, 2023 and you can read more about it below!

Platforms: Nintendo Switch Sentry City is a cyberpunk side-scrolling shooter that takes the retro 8/16-bit aesthetics to heart, especially when it comes to difficulty. It's launching soon on the Nintendo Switch and we're here to take a look and see if it's worth picking up. Does it have more to offer beyond its style and visuals? Is the difficulty a bit too much to overcome? Will AI eventually consume us all? Well, read on and find out! |
