We're a bit out of the spooky season, but we still have some cool horror titles to take a look at. Releasing on PC back in 2022, Self-Delusion is a game that features elements of Slavic folklore within its story. It recently came to consoles by way of publisher Sometimes You, and we're going to be taking a look at the Switch version today. Will this game be the unique horror experience I hope it is? Let's dive in and find out!

Game Review: Pretty Girls Pop Match

I'm here once again reviewing one of those games! I seem to be a sucker for ecchi titles, as I've reviewed about ten or so up to this point. I've even reviewed two other games within this Pretty Girls series already. (Check out my review of Pretty Girls Klondike Solitaire Plus HERE, and my review of Pretty Girls Escape Plus HERE!) Though never very deep, I tend to prefer this series over the games that seem to barely even try to attach gameplay to their drawings of big titty anime girls. With that in mind, I present to you all Pretty Girls Pop Match, a puzzle game that is out now on the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5. We're going to be taking a look at the Nintendo Switch version today, and see if the streak of me enjoying this series more than other ecchi titles continues. There's no need for any further intro, so let's dive right in!

I'm a sucker for RPGs with darker themes and vibes, and today we're going to be looking at one that I've been following for about a year in development. Coming to us by way of developer/publisher Rablo Games, Necro Story is a game that mixes those aforementioned themes with some light-hearted humor. It's available now on most major platforms, and we're going to be taking a look at the version on the Nintendo Switch today. There's a lot to cover in this one, so let's dive right in!

What If, Bullet Hell But On A Grid? A Touhou Spell Carnival Review

I actually quite like Touhou. I've played many of the core bullet hells, and several of the spinoff games (did you know there's a Touhou tower defense??), and I think ZUN is incredible and very talented. What he's achieved with the franchise since his start is nothing short of amazing. I also really enjoy strategy RPGs a la Fire Emblem and the likes. I fully platinum'd Unicorn Overlord earlier this year, because it was such a great game I couldn't put down. So the idea that Touhou Spell Carnival, a fan game combining Touhou characters and many of the bullet hell gimmicks the core series is known for with a strategy RPG, would be coming to the US, I was excited at the chance to play it.

A Fantasy That's Anything But Final: The Warlock of Firetop Mountain Review

Even though I'm not totally familiar with the history of Steve Jackson and Ian Livingstone's The Warlock of Firetop Mountain, I know that it's an important work in the extended world of TTRPGs. I also know that it would be very influential in the world of gaming. As chance would have it, a new video game version arrived a few years ago that allowed me to finally make myself familiar with it. Following a successful Kickstarter in 2015, a new digital version of The Warlock of Firetop Mountain would arrive on Steam and the Nintendo Switch in 2016 and 2018 respectively. While being a bit late to the party, we're going to be looking at that Nintendo Switch version today. There's a lot to cover in this one, so let's dive right in!

I've reviewed a lot of horror games here at A-to-J Connections, and I was intrigued by Gray Dawn from the moment I saw it. It looked dark and foreboding, and it focused on a priest who seemed to be battling with the forces of evil directly. I knew it was mostly and adventure game though, so I figured it wouldn't be as jarring as a game that gives a priest a shotgun. (Looking at you Devil Inside Us!) It released a couple months ago on all major platforms, and we're going to be looking at the Nintendo Switch version today. This review may be a little late in arrival, but this game does have a distinctly Christmas setting, so I figure the timing is as good as it'll ever be. Without further ado, let's dive in and find out if this game was worth the wait!

When I first heard that there was a 2D side-scrolling strategy game coming to consoles, I was intrigued. I wondered what a game like that would play like, and couldn't help but be swept away by the possibilities. Enter Monarchy, the game that piqued my interest when I first heard about several months ago. It's out now on all current platforms, and we're going to be taking a look at it on the Nintendo Switch. Did it live up to the high expectations I set for it? Let's dive in and find out!
