Free DLC Character & Cross Play Coming to The King of Fighters XV

​SNK Corporation recently announced the rollout of cross-platform functionality and the arrival of free DLC character Goenitz in The King of Fighters XV (KOF XV), set to arrive on 20th June, 2023!

Cross-platform play lets you square up online against players on all the various KOF XV platforms: PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Windows 10, Steam, and the Epic Games Store. This new level of connectivity will allow players to challenge people from all around the world. Also on June 20th, Goenitz, the infamous last boss of the third KOF title — The King of Fighers ’96 —descends upon the KOF XV arena as free DLC. The last of the Four Heavenly Kings of Orochi finally makes his divine entrance.

As one of the Four Heavenly Kings of Orochi, the almighty Goenitz devotes his entire being to serving his dark lord. His dignified wardrobe (that of a pastor) and polite mannerisms give off a gentle air but mask another side of him—that of a ruthless monster quite happy to inflict pain and suffering on those who dare stand in his way. (Voice actor: Susumu Akagi) Goenitz also blasts into Boss Challenge Mode where players can face off against him in a hellish gauntlet. Those who emerge victorious, receive a special costume, BGM, and other rewards.

The King of Fighters XV was released in February for PC, PlayStation and Xbox last year and has received a variety of new DLC characters and teams. The character trailer for Goenitz can be found below.
