Platforms: Nintendo Switch, PC I've been reviewing a lot of shmups lately, and I have to admit that they do tend to all blend into each other after a while when you play as many as I have. Now that I've upset shmup fans the world over with that statement, we can move on to today's review. I Got Isekai'd Into A Shmup is a vertical shooter that just might have some plot and gameplay elements that help it to stand out above the crowd. It's out now on the Nintendo Switch and PC, and we're going to be taking a look at the Switch release here. Did the game live up to the somewhat higher expectations I set for it? Let's dive in and find out! By Manuel Players: 1
Platforms: Nintendo Switch, XBox, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 A while back I reviewed a game called Skautfold: Usurper (A review you can find HERE!) and today we're going to be looking at its sequel, Skautfold: Into the Fray. (Hereafter referred to as simply "Into the Fray") It's out now on all major consoles, and we're going to be taking a look at the game today on the Nintendo Switch. This is retro-inspired shooter that plays quite a bit different than the Metroidvania game I reviewed last year. What's with the genre shift you ask? Well, we'll get to that in due time. There's a lot to cover here, so let's dive right in! By Al Players: 1
Platforms: Nintendo Switch, PC Raising sim games in the style of Princess Maker are something of a rarity in the Western gaming world. The already small niche of a genre sees very few games translated for English-speaking players, so when a title is made available, it's worth looking into. Enter Lair Land Story, a remake/re-release of a PSP/PC game released back in 2007 that is now available on the Nintendo Switch and PC. It comes to us by way of Chinese developer Circle Entertainment, and it's published by PQube. We're going to be taking a look at the Steam release today and see if this game satisfies that rarely scratched itch, and also look at what makes it unique within its relatively small genre. We have a lot to cover today, so let's get right into it! By Al Players: 1
Platforms: Nintendo Switch Every so often a game comes along that makes me question my sanity, and we're going to be looking at one of those games today. Miss Rosen's Wowtastic! Marching Band is a narrative-driven puzzle game that is set to release soon on the Nintendo Switch. It looked more than a little quirky, so I figured it would be worth checking out. Little did I know I'd find it to be such a strange game, that I'm not even sure how I'm supposed to write this review. It's a game that one really has to be seen in action firsthand to fully understand how crazy it actually is. Then again, is that something you're going to want to do? Let's dive in and find out! Platforms: Nintendo Switch, XBox, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 Every so often a game comes around that manages to surprise me in just about every way. These kind of games usually come from the most unlikely of places, and they're often ones that no one really talks about. The game we're going to discuss today fits that bill perfectly. Enter Damikira, a fast and frenetic shooter that's available now on all major consoles by way of publisher EastAsiaSoft. This quirky little game has lots up its sleeve, and hopefully I'll be able to share some of that with you today. This is going to be a wild one, so let's dive right in! By Rae Players: 1
Platforms: Nintendo Switch Hello, hello! Rae here again, a nerd of many interests and an otome game enthusiast who has been here for far too long. Today I have a very full cup of a vanilla latte. I don’t normally drink what’s essentially sweet milk disguised as coffee, but I was hoping to make a fun little analogy with it later. With that in mind, let’s get into it! 9 R.I.P. is a new otome game developed by Otomate and published by Idea Factory. Released in Japan last year (2023), the English speaking community has been buzzing with excitement for our turn. Thankfully we didn’t have to wait very long! With a release of Oct 15, 2024, official release is right around the corner. If your curiosity can’t be contained, read on and I’ll give you some insights about the game without those spooky, scary spoilers!! |
