I have to admit that I had a lot of doubts when a game called Attack of The Karens showed up for review. I thought that there would be no way a roguelite shooter whose story centers on the entire Karen... thing, could ever be good. But can it? Well, that's what we're going to be discussing today. Coming soon to the Nintendo Switch by way of developer Studio Primitive, and publisher Flynn's Arcade, we're going to see if this game has what it takes to rise above its very meme-y premise. We have a heck of a game to cover today, so let's get right into it!

Match Village is a minimalist puzzle game that comes to us by way of a one-man development team. It takes the simple match-three style gameplay and mixes it with some light city building mechanics. It's out now on several platforms, and we're going to be taking a look at the Nintendo Switch version today. Seeing as this game isn't one that needs a long intro, let's just dive right in.

This game is a fan-made spiritual successor to the Valis series that features more than enough gameplay elements that make it unique in its own right. Raising sim games in the style of Princess Maker are something of a rarity in the Western gaming world. The already small niche of a genre sees very few games translated for English-speaking players, so when a title is made available, it's worth looking into. Enter Lair Land Story, a remake/re-release of a PSP/PC game released back in 2007 that is now available on the Nintendo Switch and PC. It comes to us by way of Chinese developer Circle Entertainment, and it's published by PQube. We're going to be taking a look at the Switch release today and see if this game satisfies that rarely scratched itch, and also look at what makes it unique within its relatively small genre. We have a lot to cover today, so let's get right into it!

Being a huge fan of puzzle platformers, I was excited when I learned that the game we're going to talk about today falls into that somewhat rare genre. Arriving soon on the Nintendo Switch, PC, and PlayStation consoles is Corbid: A Colorful Adventure. (Hereafter referred to as simply "Corbid".) This game is developed by CuCurry and published by Meridiem Games, neither company being one I've heard of before, but I'm willing to give this a fair go. As its name implies, Corbid is quite the colorful adventure that takes you on several maze-like, puzzle-filed garden adventures. We're going to be taking a look at the Nintendo Switch version in this review, and hopefully see if this is a game that's worth picking up. Enough of the intros, let's get right into it.

We're no strangers to fighting games that have an anime art style here at A-to-J, but Alice Gear Aegis CS: Concerto of Simulatrix is quite a bit different from what probably pops into your head when you think of that genre. Alice Gear Aegis CS: Concerto of Simulatrix (hereafter simply referred to as "Alice Gear Aegis") is an arena fighting game that released on the Nintendo Switch, PS4, and PS5 last year. It's the first console release in a series of games that originated on mobile platforms. Hearing "mobile" anything will definitely put off a lot of people right away, but we're going to put that aside and take a look at the Nintendo Switch version today. This is going to be quite the ride, so let's get right into it!

Classic-style CRPG games in the style of the Wizardry series are a rather rare find these days, but we have a new one to show all of you today. Developed by Acquire (Akiba's Trip, Octopath Traveler) and published by PQube, Labyrinth of Zangetsu is the exact CRPG throwback that fans like me have been waiting for. Sporting a cool sumi-e art style, it's out now on the Nintendo Switch, PS4, and PC. We're going to be taking a look at the Nintendo Switch version today, and seeing as we're a little late to this party, we're going to jump right into the review!
