Platforms: Nintendo Switch, XBox, PlayStation 4, PC Though I know next to nothing about the Warhammer 40k franchise, I was intrigued when Warhammer 40,000: Dakka Squadron (Hereafter simply referred to as "Dakka Squadron") showed up for review. While I can't speak on its place in the greater Warhammer series, I do know that this aerial combat game focuses on Warhammer's unique take on Orks. We'll talk more about what that means later, but what's important is that this game is now available on the Nintendo Switch, PS4, and XBox, following an earlier PC release. Though it definitely looks like a lot of fun, how will it come off to a total Warhammer noob like me? There's only one way to find out!

Platforms: PC United Penguin Kingdom is a city builder centered on penguins and penguin-kind. Like other city builders, United Penguin Kingdom allows players to create an entire civilization, complete with harvesting, energy production, and defense against the elements and enemies alike. Climate change is rearing its ugly head, and the king penguins are all in danger! Ensure your penguins don’t get sick or attacked as your settlement hopefully grows into a thriving metropolis. Explore, research, and trade in a game that allows a good amount of freedom within its borders. However, space is often limited, so it’s your job to utilize production and the space provided. Now, does that make the game comparable to others within the same genre? Let’s find out the good and bad of United Penguin Kingdom! By Al Players: 1
Platforms: Nintendo Switch, XBox, PC Stunt Paradise is a game that's hard to put into any one genre. It may look like a racing game at first, but as the name implies, your main task revolves around performing stunts. Developed and published by Brinemedia, Stunt Paradise is available on the Nintendo Switch, XBox, and PC. We're going to be taking a look at the Switch release today, and hopefully see if this is a game you're going to want to pick up, or if it's one that's best left undiscovered. We have a lot to get into, so let's dive right in! By Al Players: 1-4 (Local & Online)
Platforms: Nintendo Switch, XBox, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, PC We have an interesting game to look at today as Hex Gambit: Respawned is what I imagine would happen if Battle Chess decided to add a much deeper layer of tactics on top of its already silly gameplay. Developed by One Man Left Studios (Who I believe released this game in a non-Respawned version at one point.) and published by Blowfish Studios, it's out now on all major platforms. We're going to be taking a look at the Nintendo Switch version today, and see how this one holds up in both single and multi-player modes. It's going to be a wild ride, so buckle in as we dive into this quirky contender for your next game night. By Al Players: 1 (Local) 2-14 (Online)
Platforms: PC There seem to be no shortage of action roguelite games these days, as we've covered quite a few of them recently here at A-to-J. While they all feature similar gameplay, the good ones have elements that set them apart from other games in the genre. Enter BlazBlue Entropy Effect, a game that includes characters from the popular BlazBlue series. This game is developed and published by Chinese studio 91Act, and was recently made available in a 1.0 version following an earlier Steam Early Access release. It's this full release version that we're going to be looking at today, so let's just dive right into it! By Al Players: 1
Platforms: Nintendo Switch, XBox, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 We don't often review puzzle games here at A-to-J, but we have quite the interesting one today in the form of Re:Touring. Following an earlier Steam release, it's now coming to all major platforms by way of publisher Sometimes You. Re:Touring is a first-person puzzle experience that features puzzles reliant on color-patterns, and it features a distinctive minimalist look and feel. We're going to be taking a look at the Nintendo Switch version today and see if this is a game that pulls off its puzzle mechanics correctly, or if it's one that you're going to want to stay away from. Enough with the intros, let's get right into it! By Al Players: 1
Platforms: Nintendo Switch Every time I see one of those games come up for potential review, I wonder if I want to subject myself to them yet again. They're not bad, but they often leave me questioning if my time with them was well-spent or not. No matter my reservations though, I keep coming back to them. Obviously the title and header image gave it away, but we're back here with yet another hentai-themed game! Coming from 17studio, whose games I've reviewed several times in the past, we have Hentai Girls Panic for the Nintendo Switch! Though their previous games have been extremely light on the gameplay side of things (Check out my review for Hentai Tales Vol. 2 for more on that!), Hentai Girls Panic looks like it's changing up the formula. How does it do that? Well, we'll get to that. Seeing as I have a surprising amount of things to say about the game, let's drop the intros and dive right in. By Al Players: 1
Platforms: Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, PC Originally released way back in 2015 for the 3DS, The Legend of Legacy is getting a new remastered version that’ll be available on several modern platforms. Developed by a team that includes notable ex-SquareSoft/Square Enix staff, The Legend of Legacy can be considered something of a spiritual successor to the SaGa series, which was a series that was all but dormant at the time of the original's development. Having played the 3DS nearly a decade ago, I was excited when this HD re-release was announced, and knew that I would have to play it. We're going to be taking a look at the Nintendo Switch version today, to not only see how gracefully aged over the years, but also to see if it's an RPG that you'll want in your collection. We have a lot to cover today, so let's jump right into it. |
