As a huge fan of Japanese culture, Thai superstar STAMP has released a new single in collaboration with Japanese male/female twin-vocal band Awesome City Club! "move on feat. Awesome City Club" dropped today and released with a music video. The song "move on feat. Awesome City Club" carries the message that while life brings good times and bad times, we should face the future and walk forward together. In these dark days when the news can feel overwhelming, it’s a comforting song to warm your spirit. This is Awesome City Club’s first collaboration with an artist from outside Japan. On the second chorus, you can even hear band members atagi and PORIN singing in Thai for the first time, a rare treat that’s worth listening out for. To mark the single’s release, STAMP and Awesome City Club made the following comments. Comment from STAMP “This is my fourth Japanese-language single, and it features Awesome City Club, a male and female twin-vocal band from Japan. The lyrics are in a mix of Japanese and Thai, and Awesome City Club’s beautiful and harmonious vocals and guitar combine to make a heartwarming song about overcoming difficult times. The song was created with the hope of boosting your spirits in these challenging times we face all around the world.” Comment from atagi (Awesome City Club) “There are many motivational songs in the world, but this is one of the most tender songs I’ve ever heard. It has a life-affirming largeness of scale, but with a warm human touch. As for the collaboration itself, it was incredibly stimulating to experience STAMP’s sense of music, sound and lyrics, which is so different from my own. This is a song that only STAMP could write, and a reminder of what makes him so special.” Comment from PORIN (Awesome City Club) “This is an extremely positive, heartwarming and motivational song that will gracefully enter your ears, so I hope it finds a wide audience. I also hope this song can foster an interest in Thai culture among Japanese people and in Japanese culture among Thai people, and that the cultures of our two countries can grow together.” Comment from Morishi (Awesome City Club) “I was curious as to how our first collaboration with an overseas artist would turn out, but thanks to STAMP’s kind personality, we were able to create something really wonderful. I hope people will listen to it in Thailand, and I hope people in Japan who don’t know STAMP will listen to it too. Everyone, please play it over and over again!” "move on feat. Awesome City Club"

“Welcome to Awesome City, a city that never sleeps. In this metropolis where dreams collide, awesome music overflows every day. Awesome City Club: The people we want to hear us are in this town.” Awesome City Club formed in 2013 in Tokyo. The three members of this male/female twin-vocal band each bring an eclectic variety of influences, which they combine to create a unique mix of pop, rock, soul, R&B, dance music and more. Their first mini-album ‘Awesome City Tracks’ was released in April 2015, placing at No.1 on the iTunes Rock chart and creating a buzz among music fans. After releasing four mini-albums in the two years from their debut, they followed up with a best-of album, an EP and then a full-length album. In addition to touring within Japan on a constant basis, they have performed at many large-scale festivals in Japan and overseas. The individual members also have various side projects outside of Awesome City Club, writing music for numerous artists and participating in tours, while PORIN has even launched her own apparel brand, making them a key part of the music scene as well as Japan’s wider culture. In early 2020, they released three singles in succession, followed by an album in the spring. In 2021, PORIN and the other members appeared in the movie ‘I Fell in Love Like A Flower Bouquet’ as themselves, and released the movie’s theme song ‘Wasurena’, which ranked highly on multiple streaming and download platforms and exceeded 100 million plays within three months. In February, their new full-length album ‘Grower’ included ‘Wasurena’ among its 10 tracks; it was followed in April by the single ‘Matataki’. Awesome City Club continue to evolve with the times, taking on a wide range of new challenges both as a band and as individuals. ■ Awesome City Club official website: https://www.awesomecityclub.com/ ■ Awesome City Club Twitter: https://twitter.com/ccawesome |
