Rin Kurusu Announces Release of Debut Single: "I wish"

Voice actress and singer Rin Kurusu, who recently announced her major label debut under Lantis, recently announced that she will be releasing her first single, “I wish,” on May 24. Details on this release and more on Rin Kurusu herself, can be found below!

Besides being her debut single, "I wish" has also been chosen to be the OP theme for the TV anime Kaminaki Sekai no Kamisama Katsudou, which is scheduled to begin airing in Japan in April 2023.

Kaminaki Sekai no Kamisama Katsudou, written by Aoi Akashiro and illustrated by Sonshō Hangetsuba, is serialized on Comiplex, a free manga site run by Hero’s Inc. The story centers on Yukito, the heir of a questionable cult’s leader, who is reborn in an alternate world where there is no concept of God or religion. Mitama, the cult’s god, is subsequently summoned to the same world. This unique spin on the isekai genre focuses on creating a religion in a world that has none.

“I Wish” is a song that showcases Rin Kurusu’s clear voice. The lyrics express her strong desire for her wish to come true, and as her first tie-in single, the song perfectly matches the world of the anime and is a fitting choice for her debut.
