Retbear to Sing Opening Theme of "REVENGER", an Upcoming Anime by Gen Urobuchi

Retbear is the new project by Kairiki Bear, a popular vocaloid producer who is known for hits such as “Venom” and “Darling Dance”. Today, with the release of the fourth promotional video of the TV anime "REVENGER", it was also revealed that Retbear will be singing the opening theme of the anime!

Retbear is an “anonymous” unit that combines Kairiki Bear with a different unknown vocalist for each song. Retbear’s first song was “Atamannaka DEAD END,” the opening theme of "Black Summoner", in which 10 vocalists participated as guest performers. Retbear’s second song “Down Timer,” the opening theme of "REVENGER", was written by Kairiki Bear and arranged by MAIKI P, a drummer, singer, and vocaloid producer. An anonymous vocalist with the codename O2 has been announced as a guest performer.

The original TV anime "REVENGER" by Shochiku, Ajia-do Animation Works, and Nitroplus will begin airing on January 5, 2023 (Thursday) in Japan on TOKYO MX, Kansai Telecasting Corporation, BS Nittele and AT-X.

Gen Urobuchi (Nitroplus), who is known for blockbusters such as "Puella Magi Madoka Magica" and "Psycho-Pass", is working on REVENGER’s plot and series composition. This is his first original anime in 10 years, so expectations are high. "REVENGER" will be directed by Masaya Fujimori, whose skilled direction in works such as "Nintama Rantaro" and "Kemono Jihen" has captivated audiences, and animated by Ajia-do Animation Works, with Jiro Suzuki and Yūichi as character designers and Yuji Hosogoe as chief animation director.
