Initial D Eurobeat Legends Dave Rodgers & MOTSU Team Up for Dream Collaboration Album

Dave Rodgers and MOTSU, both Eurobeat artists who are well-known for their contributions to the Initial D franchise, recently released a new collaboration album, and you can read all about it below!

When the hit anime series Initial D began broadcasting in 1998, it sparked the street-racing and Eurobeat boom. Now, on December 20, 2023, a dream collaboration album has been released featuring two Eurobeat legends who each created music for Initial D – “King of Eurobeat” Dave Rodgers, and m.o.v.e member MOTSU. The album is titled DAVE RODGERS "EUROBEAT KINGS feat. MOTSU".

The two legends collaborated on cover versions of m.o.v.e’s hit song "Gamble Rumble" in February 2023 and Rodgers’ hit "SPACE BOY" in July, surprising and delighting fans of Eurobeat, before finally releasing brand-new song "FLASH INTO THE NIGHT" on December 13. Don’t miss these high-octane Eurobeat tunes born from the incredible chemistry and crushing power of two superstar artists.

Initial D, the driving force behind the street-racing and Eurobeat boom, now has an official successor: MF GHOST. This all-new anime series from Initial D creator and manga artist Shuichi Shigeno began broadcasting in October 2023, drawing attention from fans around the world. The Eurobeat scene grows stronger every day – now’s the time to climb into the passenger seat!

About Dave Rodgers
Known to his fans as the King of Eurobeat or even the Emperor of Eurobeat, Dave Rodgers is the shining star of the Eurobeat world. He created numerous Eurobeat songs for the ‘SUPER EUROBEAT’ series, which is synonymous with the birth of major Japanese record label avex, and has produced and composed music for top J-pop artists including TM NETWORK, Namie Amuro and V6. He also provided several Eurobeat songs for the ‘Initial D’ anime series, such as ‘SPACE BOY’, ‘BEAT OF THE RISING SUN’ and ‘DEJA VU’, becoming a favorite among anime fans and gearheads while also becoming a mainstay of online memes and finding fans around the world!

About MOTSU
At age 22, MOTSU visited the United States and taught himself rap and dance, before making his debut as the leader of dance music unit MORE DEEP. Since then, he has launched and participated in multiple music projects, including m.o.v.e, ALTIMA and motsu×DJ KAYA, operating at the forefront of the Japanese music scene. He has also been proactive in pursuing a global career, with successful overseas performances in around a dozen countries outside of Japan, helping to lay the path for other Japanese artists to follow.
