In a surprise announcement that is sure to please anisong fans, our friends at FAKE STAR recently announced that they will be bringing Do As Infinity to San Japan in San Antonio, Texas this Summer, August 30-September 1, 2019! Formed in 1999, Do As Infinity (or DAI for short) is a prolific band with a career spanning 12 studio albums and many releases reaching a million in sales. DAI had held street performances mainly at Hachiko in Shibuya more than 100 times before their debut. On September 29th 1999, they released their debut single “Tangerine Dream” on avex trax.
With several credits for anime theme songs, their most beloved theme “Fukai Mori” for the hit series Inuyasha earned them a place in the hearts of millions of anime fans. In 2017 they began releasing a single trilogy, which was sound-produced by Hiroyuki Sawano, with “Alive / Iron Hornet” and “To Know You”. “Keshin no Kemono”, the third single as well as the ending song for the TV animation “Juni Taisen: Zodiac War”, was released on December 6th. DAI will be performing a special acoustic concert at the Lila Cockrell Theater, as well as hosting a Q&A Panel, autographs, and a special Meet & Greet session. More details will be announced on San Japan’s website and social media as the event draws nearer. San Japan, one of Texas’s largest anime conventions, has a history of hosting Japan’s top musical acts. This year will be San Japan’s 12th year.
