Ahead of ULTRA JAPAN 2022 Performance Japan’s AmPm Release New Single: "Amsterdam Maybe feat. SHIMA"8/26/2022 Japanese masked production duo AmPm broke onto the global dance music scene with their hit 2017 debut single "Best Part of Us". Now, ahead of their performance at September 17-18’s ULTRA JAPAN 2022 festival, AmPm have released their latest single "Amsterdam Maybe feat. SHIMA" today, August 26. Along with the single release was the release of a lyric video for the song, which can be viewed below. The track is the third in a series leading up to AmPm’s forthcoming debut album themed on travel, and is a song created with the image of Amsterdam, the capital of Holland’s thriving dance music scene. The song features guest vocalist SHIMA, who is based in both Los Angeles and Tokyo. SHIMA’s lyrics represent her personal take on Amsterdam, a city surrounded by abundant nature, with evocative phrases that express a sense of openness and freedom. SHIMA’s clear yet deep singing voice combines with AmPm’s light and smooth deep house sound, intertwined with powerful beats and melancholy melodies, resulting in a dance tune that feels good to listen to. Perfectly suited to enjoying outdoors at a festival or on a long drive, or while relaxing at home, this is a release you don’t want to miss. Comment from SHIMA "I’m so happy to have been able to work with AmPm on this track! From the moment I first heard the instrumental they sent me, I already had strong ideas for the vocals and the lyrics and melodies came flowing out of me effortlessly, which is always super nice. Nothing was forced. I also have never worked with a Japanese artist who had such a global sound. They make the type of music that can be enjoyed by anyone, everywhere, so it was really great working with them. I hope we can perform this song together in Amsterdam!" Comment from AmPm “This time we’ve made a song that works great on streaming services as well as at a club. We’re proud of the many types of music we have released so far, but sometimes they have had a limited listening environment. The experience we’ve accumulated from all of our releases so far have allowed us to make a track like this. “It just so happens that we will be performing at ULTRA JAPAN shortly after the release of this song, so we hope it is a track that will turn up the heat for our fans.” Release Information
