Ahead of ULTRA JAPAN 2022 Performance Japan’s AmPm Release New Single: "Amsterdam Maybe feat. SHIMA"

Japanese masked production duo AmPm broke onto the global dance music scene with their hit 2017 debut single "Best Part of Us". Now, ahead of their performance at September 17-18’s ULTRA JAPAN 2022 festival, AmPm have released their latest single "Amsterdam Maybe feat. SHIMA" today, August 26.

Along with the single release was the release of a lyric video for the song, which can be viewed below.

The track is the third in a series leading up to AmPm’s forthcoming debut album themed on travel, and is a song created with the image of Amsterdam, the capital of Holland’s thriving dance music scene. The song features guest vocalist SHIMA, who is based in both Los Angeles and Tokyo. SHIMA’s lyrics represent her personal take on Amsterdam, a city surrounded by abundant nature, with evocative phrases that express a sense of openness and freedom. SHIMA’s clear yet deep singing voice combines with AmPm’s light and smooth deep house sound, intertwined with powerful beats and melancholy melodies, resulting in a dance tune that feels good to listen to. Perfectly suited to enjoying outdoors at a festival or on a long drive, or while relaxing at home, this is a release you don’t want to miss.

● SHIMA Profile:
SHIMA, born in Atlanta, raised in Tokyo, is a music producer and singer-songwriter. SHIMA was scouted by a record label while attending an international school in Japan, and after two years of lessons, she moved to Miami to study music and computer engineering. Upon graduation, she began working as a software engineer and kick-started her music production career in earnest.  SHIMA not only writes her own music utilizing both English and Japanese, but also arranges, mixes, and masters her tracks herself. The multi-talented artist signed with Universal Music in 2021 and made her debut with the fresh and dreamy single ‘After the World Ends’, followed by the rebellious second single ‘CONMAN’, which featured Japanese actor/singer/model Sumire. Continuing to create a hybrid of pop, dance, and funk with her own Japanese twist, SHIMA released her third single ‘MOONWALK’ in May 2022.
