Platforms: Nintendo Switch, PC Wet Steps is a visual novel that just released for the Nintendo Switch that previously saw a release on Steam. It has the anime art style that fans of the genre come to expect, but it also features a plot that contains elements of Slavic mythology. It's hard for visual novels to stand out these days, especially on platforms like the Switch that contain several of them. So, let's take a look at this one and see what, if anything, sets this one apart from the rest! By Al Players: 1
Platforms: Nintendo Switch, XBox, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, PC Have you ever wanted to play a game that places you into the role of a cat? Well, then Cats and the Other Lives is the game for you! Releasing on consoles following a PC release last year, Cats and the Other Lives is something of a point and click style adventure game that adds in other genre elements as well. Following in the wake of Stray, you play as a house cat for a rather mysterious, but apparently wealthy, family in a series of puzzles and adventures that lean heavily towards horror. So it's a scary cat game? Well, I guess it's time for us to cut the intro short and dive into this one to see if it's worth picking up, or ignoring it in favor of the many other cat simulator-style games out there. Then again being a cat is always somewhat fun... By Al Players: 1
Platforms: Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 Archetype Arcadia is a dark, sci-fi visual novel that is developed by the same team that brought us Raging Loop back in 2019, and it's out now on the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5. It's arguable that visual novels aren't often associated with long narratives, or darker themes, but Archetype Arcadia brings them both in droves. Is this post-apocalyptic story worth sinking 50 hours into? Do the dark themes weave themselves in well with the pseudo-Isekai plot? What are some of the secrets that lie beneath the surface of the game's world? Well, we're hopefully going to answer all those questions and more in this review, so read on to find out! Platforms: Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PC Adventure Academia: The Fractured Continent is the latest title in the long-running Class of Heroes series, and it released in December of last year on the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PC by way of PQube Entertainment. While the Class of Heroes series is mainly a dungeon crawling JRPG series, Adventure Academia changes things up by moving into the SRPG genre. Nothing is ever that simple though, and it's an SRPG game with quite a few real-time elements to shake things up a bit. Seeing as we're nearing the its first anniversary, we decided that now is a good time to dive into the game and see if it's worth going back to school for, or if you're better off dropping out early. Square Enix today revealed brand-new information about Dawntrail, the fifth and latest expansion pack for its critically acclaimed MMO Final Fantasy XIV Online, set to launch in Summer 2024.

Platforms: Nintendo Switch Soviet Project is a survival horror adventure game that saw a release on Steam previously under the title Bug Dolls: Soviet Project. We'll cover that Bug Doll thing later on in the review, but it's now available on the Nintendo Switch as well. It's a bit of an odd take on the genre as it's far more open-ended than one would expect in the genre. One might even call it an open-world game if its world was not relatively small. We're getting ahead of ourselves though, so let's back up and see what these bug dolls are all about and unravel the mystery behind the Soviet Project! At The Indie Horror Showcase, Southeast Asian publisher Neon Doctrine and developer GameChanger Studio released a new trailer for macabre creature collector and empire management sim My Lovely Empress that offers a taste of the power that the deliciously demonic Yaoguai can bestow. Details, and the newly released trailer, can be found below!
