Last year we added to our traditional "End of Year" song article by doing one on our favorite video games of the year. Seeing as we've greatly expanded our video game output this year, it only makes sense that we'd do it again! Just about everyone at A-to-J is a gamer to some degree (Then again who isn't?), and we all have some pretty varied tastes when it comes to games. We are a little late with this one, since we are more than a week into 2024, but let's just get into this one already! I guess this means we have another yearly tradition from here on out! Just took the better part of a decade to add! Anyhow, check out our choices below and maybe you can let us know your favorite picks as well!

Platforms: Nintendo Switch, Steam 8-Color Star Guardians + is the latest version of a browser game that released early last year. It saw an enhanced release on Steam following its browser game days, and is now arriving on the Nintendo Switch. It's a love letter to sentai shows, anime, and retro video games, but also has a style all its own. We're going to be taking a look at it now, and see if this is one you're going to want to add to your collection, or if things are better left to our perky heroes to handle themselves. Let's transform and get right into it! By Nestor Players: 1
Platforms: PC House Flipper 2 brings cozy gaming to a whole other level. This sequel to the game that arguably kicked off an entire boom was a joy to play, and it's extremely easy to lose track of time when you're in the deep of things. I found myself playing for hours and hours one end without really thinking about it and enjoyed every moment of it. Now I'm going to try to relate some of what makes it great to you all. Platforms: Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox, PC Raccoo Venture is a 3D platformer impressively made by a single person that is a major throwback to the games we used to get a lot of on the PS1 and N64. In many ways, it benefits and suffers from that mentality, leading to quite the rough road it treads. By Al Players: 1
Platforms: Nintendo Switch, Steam Time Master is a puzzle platformer that originally released on Steam last year, but recently saw a console release on the Nintendo Switch. This game's take on the genre involves time manipulation and a rewind mechanic that seeks to change up the sometimes stale gameplay within the genre. Do these elements work to create something fun and engaging? How does it stack up against other similar games? Well, you won't find no time paradoxes in this review! We're going to dive into this one and see if it's worth your time, or if it should be banished along with our main character's sister. |
