Platforms: Nintendo Switch My Next Life As a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom! -Pirates of the Disturbance- (hereafter referred to simply as Pirates of the Disturbance or My Next Life as a Villainess) is an otome visual novel game that comes to us by way of Otomate and Idea Factory. It serves as a side story/follow-up to the My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom! light novel and anime series, and is available now on the Nintendo Switch. I'm going to be reviewing this game as a complete newbie to both the franchise itself, and the greater otome game genre too. My views might be a bit different from those who are more familiar with both, but this should be an interesting journey nonetheless I'm sure. I am quite familiar with visual novels in general though, so it's not like the game will be coming out of complete left field for me. Anyhow, there's a lot to cover here, so we're going to cut the introductory bits a little short and get right to the review proper! By Al Players: 1
Platforms: Nintendo Switch, XBox, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, PC Lacuna: A Sci-Fi Noir Adventure (referred to only as Lacuna after this) is a unique take on the adventure game genre that comes to us by way of DigiTales Interactive. It's available on all major consoles and PC and features a storyline that is reminiscent of detective noir story, but set in a world that immediately conjures up comparisons to Blade Runner. As you can probably see from the screenshots, it also has a pixel-based artstyle. These various elements come together in a game that is definitely unique, but we're here to talk about whether it's actually good too. Enough talk though, there are crimes to solve, and mysteries to uncover. Let's dive into it! We recently reviewed Headbangers Rhythm Royale (that review can be found HERE), and Glee-Cheese and Team17 have a new announcement for those battling it out in the game! Since we were hoping new content would be coming soon, we are very excited. Anyhow, the official release, and a new trailer, can be found below!

Platforms: Nintendo Switch Ever wonder what it would be like to escape a city besieged by a Kaiju invasion? Or perhaps outrun aliens that have descended upon an F1 race? Well, those are two of the scenarios that you'll find within Speed or Death, a racing game that is out now on the Nintendo Switch following an earlier release on PC and other consoles. We haven't really reviewed any racing games here at A-to-J Connections, and this one is truly unique in both its setting and theming, so I guess this is where we're going to start. Will this game's unique premise help it rise above the pack? I guess we'll just have to dive in and find out! By Al Players: 1-4 (Local)
Platforms: Nintendo Switch, PC Toasterball is a wacky sports game that sees you take on the role of a toaster in a game that is reminiscent of table tennis, but with bread. It was originally launched on Kickstarter back in 2020, was funded, and is now available on the Nintendo Switch following a release on Steam. We're always up for wacky multiplayer experiences so we decided to check it out and see if this has what it takes to be your next go-to party game, or if you're better toasting your bread on the stovetop instead! Let's head on over to Breadington Square and get this game started! |
