Platforms: Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PC Are you a fan of gacha games but aren't a fan of the predatory microtransactions they often contain? Well, Super Bullet Break takes that gacha gameplay, adds in a deckbuilding RPG with roguelike elements, and takes microtransactions out of the equation entirely. Developed by BeXide Inc., and published by PQube, this game released at the tail end of 2022 on the Nintendo Switch, PS4, and PC and we're going to take a look at it today. We're no stranger to deckbuilding RPGs, but the idea of one that so openly displays its gacha and anime inspirations so heavily is quite intriguing. So, without further ado, let's dive in and hope we get all those legendary pulls!

Platforms: Nintendo Switch Dementium: The Ward is a first-person horror game that originally released on the Nintendo DS in 2007. It got an updated release late in the 3DS' life in 2015, and is now available on the Nintendo Switch, complete with several quality of life upgrades. While it's not the best-known title from the DS catalog, it was a rare M-rated horror title that still surprises gamers who discover it today. The question is whether this release is worth the wait, if the improvements are enough to justify the re-release, and how it stands up in the modern gaming scene. Hopefully we'll address all those questions, and several others, in our review! By Manuel Players: 1
Platforms: Nintendo Switch, XBox, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, PC Knight vs. Giant: The Broken Excalibur is a roguelite game set in the mythical world of the Arthurian legends. It's out now on consoles and PC by way of Gambir Game Studio and PQube. I'm not really the biggest player of the roguelite genre, but I do love the Arthurian mythos and Action RPGs. Roguelites aren't exactly ARPGs, but it's a close enough fit that I had to see if there's something to this genre that seems to get dozens of titles coming out in a seemingly endless wave. Well, with that in mind, does Knight vs. Giant have what it takes to stand above the crowd? Let's dive into The Void and find out! Platforms: PC Trinoline Genesis is a kinetic visual novel from acclaimed studio minori. It basically serves as a Fan Disc for their 2017 game, Trinoline. It tells five standalone stories that follow up, or add to, the first title's narrative. minori as a company might be no more, but MangaGamer released this game on Steam early last year, and we're going to take a look at it. One note before we get started: We'll only be looking at the Steam version, which is an All Ages release and features none of the adult content you can get from the version available on MangaGamer's website. This means that there won't be any 18+ content below, and its presence (or lack thereof) won't factor into the review at all. With that out of the way, let's dive into it. |
