Experimental heavy metal trio Boris have announced their imminent return, in the form of their 25th studio album "NO" to be released on July 3rd. The album will be a follow-up to last year's "LφVE & EVφL", their Third Man Records debut and comeback from what the band said was nearly a breakup. The lead single from "NO" is "Loveless", a heart-pounding piece of sludgy thrash metal which features some of the most energetic vocals we've heard from the band this decade.

 Punk fans, rejoice - grindcore/noise outfit Melt-Banana have announced their long-awaited return to the states. The high-energy duo is known for their frequent and extensive touring, but their last stint in the US was in 2016 supporting Melvins and Napalm Death. This morning, however, Melt-Banana announced their upcoming headlining tour: FLIP-FLOP US TOUR 2020. The flyer and list of dates for the 10-show run can be seen below. Melt-Banana will be supported on this tour by Acid Fab, a side project of Tera Melos guitarist Nick Reinhart.
2019 was one of the most challenging years with A-to-J Connections as we reshuffled our members and made a conscious decision to focus on content from throughout Asia (i.e. Thailand, South Korea, Taiwan, etc.) as opposed to limiting our content to Japan-only. Hardships aside though we had a lot of great music come our way too and, coupled with the expansion mentioned earlier, this led to our usual eclectic mix of our favorite songs of the year to grow even more diverse! Just a quick note though, there was a little bit of cheating here and there on this list with some people picking two songs instead of one, but in light of all the changes we figured we'd allow it. Traditions are meant to be adapted and changed after all. Anyhow, here's to looking back at another great year of music and let's jump into this list!
