Pottya - Kira Kira Kuso Fantasy MV

Pottya is a group of "plus-sized" idols, similar to Chubbiness (except unlike Chubbiness, Pottya's members are actually chubby). Their goal is to spread body-positivity, and so far they've been doing a great job. Their music videos are usually super low-budget, but also super cute. This latest video is no different.

"Kira Kira ☆ Kuso ☆ Fantasy" features Pottya walking around and having fun on vacation in Bangkok, Thailand eating lots of food, taking lots of pictures, and even visiting a zoo. Every part of the video screams cuteness, but not in the same, often overwhelming, way other idols do. Pottya are essentially tourists, visiting a ton of different sites and taking selfies in front of everything. They then try a large variety of the local food. This includes a great segment where each member eats a bug and reacts differently. They ride elephants, shoot guns, and take pictures with this amazing thing:

The song is cute, catchy, super replayable. It has all the elements of a standard idol song, the group definitely stands out more for their image than their music. Still, I do love this song. I love Pottya in general, being everything that Chubbiness claimed to be. I hope they get a bit more recognition, especially in a market which puts so much value on being as small and skinny as possible.
