How often do we talk about idol units including ex-members of BiS? Not often enough. Maison book girl is an idol unit formed with ex-BiS member Megumi Koshouji. Unique for their bright yet melancholy indie pop sound, Maison book girl is slowly rising to be one of the more popular post-BiS projects. They recently announced the EP "summer continue" to be released on March 30th, and this song "lost AGE" is the first track on said EP.

"lost AGE" starts right where Maison book girl's debut album "bath room" left us last year; synths that are so melancholy they have no right to be so bouncy. Somehow the music is both cheery and sad at the same time. I will say that this song isn't as catchy as some of the cuts from their album, but I love it just the same. In the video, the girls dance around in white gowns, almost mechanically alongside the beat. Everyone in Maison book girl has a similar vocal style, but it serves their style pretty well in my opinion. It's all very soft and minimalist with a very slight tinge of discomfort.

"lost AGE" is one of only four songs we'll be getting on the "summer continue" EP later this month. I'm sure they're all going to sound pretty similar, in true Maison book girl fashion, but their minimalist sound lends itself well to these chilled out soft pop songs. It's a good relaxing song, nice and calming. Just what I wanted from Maison book girl.
