Featured Idol Friday: Yukueshirezutsurezure

We've talked about Yukueshirezutsurezure before, but somehow never got around to really telling you who they are. Luckily for you, it's Featured Idol Friday! With their debut mini-album fresh in everybody's minds, this is the perfect chance to tell you all about the enigma that is Yukueshirezutsurezure.

There is actually very little info available about this group, but I'll try my best, just for you. First off is the About page on the group's official website. This is...

...not what I had in mind. What little history we DO have isn't much to go on either. Yukueshirezutsurezure have only been around for about a year as far as I can tell, releasing a couple of singles leading up to their debut mini-album "antino未deology" which came out last month. They're the sister group of Zenbu Kimi no Sei Da, another fantastic group within the "yami-kawaii" genre. Yukueshirezutsurezure started with three members; Shida, Kichi, and A. They lost Kichi recently (my favorite of the three, because this always happens) due to a thyroid condition, then they picked up two new members (Tsuya and Kokoko). They're also known to upload new songs to their website and take them down after only two hours, because they love to tease their fans.

Musically, Yukue is one of the most unique groups in the idol world right now. As mentioned above, Yukue and their sister-group fall into a genre which has been labeled "yami-kawaii", or sickly-cute. The music at first appears to be reasonably soft, dreamy pop music. What happens next is for you to discover.

So, not your average group then. Yukue, Zenbu, and a handful of other artists operate under the Codomomental record label, which is probably poised to take over the world if they keep up this level of absolute quality. Yukue themselves already have another single in the works, which (accoring to their discography page) is set to come out sometime in August. They're calling it their first single, as the previous singles were digital-only and this one appears to be set for a physical release.

Yukue is unique. We want to see them succeed and prosper but they're not getting a lot of attention yet. Watch that music video, follow their Twitters, buy their music! I hear they're releasing another video soon, for their most recent digital single "Shinjuku Cinema", so keep an eye out for that!

​There really is not much to say right now. This group is so new that everything is just hype and speculation. The music they've released thus far is fantastic, and their aesthetic is unique and interesting, so I personally can't wait for more out of them.
