AV Actress Yua Mikami's Korean Debut to Take Place With Group Honey Popcorn

More details have been released following the announcement that AV actress (adult video), and Ebisu Muscats member, Yua Mikami would be debuting in a Korean idol group this March.

The original announcement for Yua Mikami's debut was on February 23 and only revealed that the former SKE48 member was set to make her Korean debut. February 26 saw more details added as Yua Mikami shared the poster for Honey Popcorn's Debut Showcase event on her Twitter. The debut event is set to be held at the YES24 LIVE HALL on March 14 at 7:00 PM. Besides revealing these details, and confirming the group's name, the poster also showed the members that would be debuting alongside her. These members are Miko (Risako Okada formerly of NMB48) and Sakura (Yuu Ito formerly of Bakusute Sotokanda Icchome) Both these new members share with Yua Mikami both a rich idol performance pedigree and a background in AV work.

While all three of the members are no strangers to performing on stage it'll be interesting to see what kind of material the group puts forth. It's worth noting that Yua Mikami is a fan of KPop and has put up several covers on her personal YouTube channel. (Links below) This announcement does bring up the question of Yua Mikami's role in Ebisu Muscats 1.5 from here on out. For those unfamiliar with Ebisu Muscats, they are a Japanese idol group made up of JAV and gravure idols. The group has released several singles since their formation in 2008 and has had a very fluid lineup, perhaps making her potential departure not particularly noteworthy. Either way, Honey Popcorn's debut is worth keeping an eye on as this marks the first time a group comprised of AV actresses has debuted in Korea.
