Tokyo-based international rock band Survive Said The Prophet recently announced that they will release their highly anticipated new single, “Useless feat. Ryo Kinoshita from Knosis”, on Wednesday, May 28 across all major streaming platforms. Details on this release, as well as links to check it out for yourself, can be found below.
The track previously was performed exclusively at their recent live shows, including on their U.S. Tour last year, and has evolved with each performance, growing in intensity and emotional depth. Now, after months of anticipation and overwhelming demand from fans, “Useless” is finally getting its official release. The music video will also be premiering the same day at 8:00pm (JST).

“Useless” is a raw and emotionally charged anthem that delves into the inner struggles of vocalist and composer Yosh. It captures the fear and anxiety of feeling broken or no longer useful, expressed in near-screams of desperation and catharsis. The song’s aggressive sound, sharpened through intense live energy , highlights the emotional weight of the track.

The bands front-man YOSH states: "Useless is exactly what it means, feeling worthless. No matter who you are, some people make you doubt all you’ve worked for, even after overcoming big challenges. This song expresses that anger, with the chorus showing what it feels like inside. It’s a very honest track based on my experiences. I’m excited it’s finally out. Fans have connected with it live, and I hope they feel that energy now.”

Joining the band as a guest vocalist is Ryo Kinoshita from Knosis (formerly of Crystal Lake), a rising force in the loud and hardcore scene known for his thunderous presence. Kinoshita’s ferocious screams add further depth and intensity, perfectly complementing the track’s heavy soundscape.

Adding to the momentum, Survive Said The Prophet is set to ignite audiences across Europe and the UK with their highly anticipated EU / UK TOUR 2025, kicking off on June 6, 2025. Demonstrating the band’s soaring international appeal, the London show sold out within just one week of announcement. The tour will also see them perform at some of the world’s most iconic rock festivals, including Download Festival, Rock am Ring & Rock im Park, and Rock for People solidifying their place among the top acts in the global rock scene. The band is also set to headline two shows, including a London date that sold out within just one week of its announcement.

About Survive Said The Prophet
Survive Said The Prophet is an internationally acclaimed rock band based in Tokyo, known for their genre-blending sound that fuses Western rock with elements of pop, electronic, hip-hop, and R&B. Since their formation in 2011, the band has carved a unique space in the global rock scene, earning recognition through high-energy performances and impactful collaborations across music, anime, and live entertainment.

Survive Said The Prophet has released six studio albums, headlined sold-out tours—including a pre-pandemic sellout at Shinkiba Studio Coast in 2020—and performed at Japan’s biggest festivals such as KNOTFEST, SUMMER SONIC, WARPED TOUR JAPAN, and ROCK IN JAPAN. Their international footprint continues to expand, with performances across Asia, the UK, and North America, including anime conventions in Toronto, New York, and Seattle.

The band's music has been widely embraced in pop culture, featuring in global anime hits like Vinland Saga (Seasons 1 & 2), BANANA FISH, and Code Geass, as well as major TV commercials and B-League basketball theme songs. Their latest single, "Paradox," was chosen as the opening theme for Vinland Saga Season 2, following the massive success of their song "MUKANJYO," which served as the opening for the first season.

Led by bilingual frontman Yosh, who lent his vocals to Final Fantasy VII Remake, Survive Said The Prophet has shared the stage with INCUBUS, PARAMORE, HOOBASTANK, The Used, Stand Atlantic, and more. As they continue to push sonic boundaries and connect with fans worldwide, Survive Said The Prophet remains one of Japan’s most compelling and internationally recognized rock acts.
