Sapporo-based rock band Chevon, whose members have an average age of 23, recently released their latest digital single, titled "meimei", on July 3. Details on this rising band, and links to check out "meimei", can be found below!
"meimei" is also the title track of Chevon's solo tour, which begins on July 17 and encapsulates their six-year career. "meimei" means “darkness”, and Chevon’s message is that “in an era when it’s considered best to be bright, it’s also OK to be dark – and it’s the dark ones among us who truly understand the sadness of others.”

The music video for "meimei" expresses a uniquely Japanese aesthetic in a similar vein to the illustration artwork for the "Meimei" tour, resulting in a video that embraces the chaos of Chevon’s ‘Meimei’ world. The MV can be viewed below.

About Chevon
Chevon are a rising band from Sapporo in Hokkaido, Japan, whose members have an average age of 23. The band are attracting attention for their incredible vocals that draw listeners into another world, and for their selection of distinctive songs.

Following their formation in 2021, Chevon began a 12-month period of non-stop online activity, before selling out a solo performance in Sapporo. They quickly began performing at major music festivals in Japan, such as JOIN ALIVE in their native Hokkaido and ARABAKI ROCK FEST in Tohoku. Their first split-bill tour titled KAIJU followed in December 2023 and drew a ton of attention, with all dates selling out the same day they went on sale.

Released in September, their song "Knock Boots" became their first TV drama series collaboration, while a performance at FM802 ROCK FESTIVAL RADIO CRAZY 2023 rounded out their busy, successful 2023. They kicked off 2024 with an appearance on Nippon TV’s "BUZZ RHYTHM 02", as part of the annual New Year show "Kore wa Buzz Suru zo! 2024", which showcases that year’s crop of buzzworthy new artists. Meanwhile, their triumphant performances at spring music festivals such as JAPAN JAM, VIVA LA ROCK and METROCK were so popular that entry had to be restricted to avoid overcrowding. All six dates of their recently announced tour, Chevon 1st ONE MAN TOUR LIVE 2024 "Meimei", sold out as soon as they went on sale, resulting in the announcement of additional shows including Zepp Shinjuku in Tokyo. Don’t miss this rising band as they reach for the stratosphere!
