Japanese Visual Kei Band JILUKA Make US Debut at Anime Weekend Atlanta 2023

Anime Weekend Atlanta (AWA) has a long history of bringing some amazing Japanese music guests to its events, some of which we've had a chance to interview, and they recently announced that Visual Kei band JILUKA will be making their US debut at this year's event.

JILUKA is a band that originally formed in 2013 and consists of members Ricko (vocals), Sena (guitar), Boogie (bass), and Zyean (drums). They are considered innovators in the modern Visual Kei sound and have incorporated elements of metalcore, EDM, and more in their sound. This sound is dubbed "Electro Gothic Metal" (EGM) and you can hear it in their recent single "OVERKILL". AWA will be their first performance in North America.

Anime Weekend Atlanta will be held at the Renaissance Waverly and Cobb Galleria Centre from October 26-29, 2023. AWA is the southeast US’s largest anime convention and regularly hosts major Japanese music artists as well as Visual Kei and Japanese Rock bands every year. While JILUKA is AWA’s first musical guest announcement for 2023, additional musical acts are planned to be announced in the coming weeks. Weekend passes for AWA are available now on the convention’s website. In addition to performing at AWA, the band will host a Q&A panel, autograph sessions, and photo sessions throughout the weekend.

About JILUKA:
JILUKA was formed in February 2015 with a four member line-up: 

Ricko (vocals)
Sena (guitar)
Boogie (bass)
Zyean (drums)

JILUKA expresses a variety of emotions by combining their aggressive metal sound with diverse musical essences and utilizing striking, melodious music. The band released three mini albums and five singles in a three year period, trademarked by an impressive musical evolution, interwoven with a musical sense indicative of the new generation. Strongly embossed with the label of visual kei Djent core from the start, both their growth as a band and a hybrid and metallic intensification resulted in the creation of visual kei modern metal. 

Furthermore, JILUKA expanded their always energetic live performance endeavors and presented the world with their first full album "Metamorphose" in 2018. JILUKA put on a successful live show at Shibuya CLUB QUATTRO in November of that same year. JILUKA then challenged themselves to take a new step forward in May 2019 with their brilliantly daring cover album "Polyhedron", which included a metal version of the nationally recognized hit song "U.S.A." by Da Pump.

Having marked their 5th year as a band with their first best-of album "XANADU" and an anniversary solo show in February 2020, JILUKA are on the cutting edge of V-Kei modern metal with the albums "Xtopia"(2020) and "IDOLA"(2021). In October 2022, the band launched their ultimate new flagship "Electro Gothic Metal (EGM)" sound with the digital single "BLVCK". In March 2023, their next digital single "OVERKILL" spread the possibilities of EGM. Now, JILUKA with EGM is taking over the world!!
