ACME Celebrate US Debut at Anime Milwaukee 2019

Visual kei band ACME’s overseas debut performance at Anime Milwaukee 2019 ended with great enthusiasm and success.

There’s an enormous cheer when the opening SE starts, and the band takes the stage in their costumes from their latest music video “Last Prize.”  The voltage in the venue spikes and the performance starts with “Zesshou Ouka.” The visuals from this track were key in promoting the band’s US appearance. ACME’s first overseas show included an array of sing-alongs, a wall of death, and circle moshing among the 18 track setlist. The performance resulted in unbelievable excitement from fans at a metal festival, going well beyond an anime convention crowd.

On the second day of the convention, the local television network from ABC joined in on the excitement and featured ACME on the morning news segments about Anime Milwaukee. 

Day 2 also featured ACME as a special halftime performance for the Masquerade, the cosplay contest which is one of the most attended events of the convention. Due to the intense nature of the headlining show the night before, moshing was prohibited, but the band delivered a full performance and were given a standing ovation from the attendees.

Day 3 of the convention featured a Q&A panel with the band, an autograph session, and a photo session in which the fans could interact closely with ACME. Having only formed less than 2 years ago, ACME surmounted language barriers and cultural differences and was able to make a significant impact in their 3 days at an event in the United States.
