Hey guys! I’ve recently been focusing on more toned down makeup which is why I haven't uploaded anything on here in a while. I will though, try and start a new visual kei artist inspired and or cosplay based series for the makeup looks I upload on A to J! I plan on doing Meto from Mejibray’s Raven PV and other more creative & unique looks from visual kei bands!
Ever since we’ve teamed up with Harajuku day, we at A-to-J have been getting keener on covering more Japanese fashion-related content. What a perfect way to do so by highlighting a local event by a local J-Fashion brand!
Meet this talented hairdresser, wig-maker, photographer, and costume maker from Moscow, Russia!
I've been on a search to find a nice, decent, and cheap liquid eyeliner. My first thought was to head to Daiso here in Little Tokyo, Los Angeles. They sell cute and cheap makeup for as low $1.50!!! Most being great quality for the price. Though I've never tried any eyeliners from the shop, I decided to give it a try and experiment with a different brand for once.
I chose the cutest looking jar on the shelf: KLEANCOLOR Pixie Jar Liquid Eyeliner! I picked it up and decided to quickly try it on my hand. It was a decent quality! As I tried to screw the top back on, the crystal like upper part snapped off and I thought I had broken it. To my surprise, it was ANOTHER eyeliner!!! The soft kohl pencil tip peaked out. It was a two in one! Both a liquid and pencil liner in one product! I decided to take it. Harajuku Day (HD) have been officially up and running since November 2015! The year has gone by so fast and it's crazy to think about how much they have grown in a matter of twelve short months. On November 21st 2016, Harajuku Day celebrated their one year anniversary where it started it all: Weller Court in Little Tokyo! Complete with a short Harajuku Fashion Walk, as well as plenty of love and thanks to the photographers that have also supported them throughout this year. Here are some awesome photos from this particular meetup!
Some of you may remember that A-To-J connections were able to interview DaDa, designer for plus sized Lolita brand KOMACHI2266531DarkLolita this past July! (Which can be found HERE) We’ve been keeping up with the brand and what has caught a good amount of interest is the brand’s latest collaboration with some notable Visual Kei artists. Two new tights designs have been announced! The first design is in collaboration with Aki, vocalist of Arlequin., while the second design is in collaboration with Minpha, bassist of Pentagon!
Los Angeles based Harajuku Fashion Meet-ups were created by John Woo and Marcus Chavez along with Monique Lea and Laarnie Barcelon back in November of 2015. These fun and creative meetings were designed to bring So-Cal Harajuku Fashion lovers together in hopes of helping people have a fun and comfortable atmosphere to express their likes and interests. Not to mention they've even had Harajuku fashion icon Junnyan attend their recent meet up at Anime Expo 2016. The fashion meets happen once per month every month usually in Little Tokyo’s Weller Court. Walking distance from the Little Tokyo Gold Line Metro Station!
