Anime Expo's Fashion Show has always been a popular event that attracts both some of the hottest brands, and the fans who love them. The designer lineup for 2019's show has been announced so let's take a look!
It's been a full week since we wrapped up our time at Anime Los Angeles 2019 and one of our favorite events of this convention (and many others if we're honest) is their fashion show! ALA 2019 saw several brands show off their latest work. A-to-J's own My Hamachi Designs shared the stage with Girl With One Eye, Sae leona, Creators Guild, Ronova, Beyond The Boundary, Majesti Designs, and ACDC RAG. The last one being a very popular and well-known Japanese brand that was also the featured brand of the show. To add to the festivities ALA also provided an long halftime show that featured a live performance by BLACK ROS3, and a cosplay catwalk, both events also featured ALA Guest Suzu Momoi. While we won't provide extended commentary on each brand, the gallery below shows off their amazing work and we hope you enjoy it!
All pictures by Ivan Aburto and all brand descriptions and logos are taken from the Anime Los Angeles website. We finally had the opportunity to catch up with our good friends in Harajuku Day! Their June meet brought in a good amount of both new guests and new activities to do this month. There was even a tarot card reader who most said was very accurate and fun to work with. Some of the usual guests brought their own kawaii accessories to sell which you can buy regularly every month! Check out the high quality photos of their handmade goodies down below!
h.NAOTO has debuted their newest model this late May 2018: Argar! She loves Halloween, Goth Fashion, and Dango. Check out this cutie below: That's right, Argar is definitely a new breed of model for a new era. Argar is a witch living in Japan and looks to have a long modeling career ahead of her if their current work is any indicator. We're all aboard with h.NAOTO's hottest new model and can't wait to see more!
Make sure to support their modeling through instagram: @argarwitch or through their Ameblo blog: ameblo.jp/witchbless -Kaz Hello friends! I’m finally releasing another outfit of the month for April. In reality, I’m gonna go ahead and blame my absence on my recent trip to Tokyo! Without it though, we wouldn’t have this outfit. Today I’m showing you guys three things I bought while in Harajuku. My makeup style has also changed quite a bit since then and I'm really enjoying it! This outfit consists of my first ever beret! They looked so cute, I definitely bought more than one. The guy i bought it from has so many cool handmade items! He has a small booth to the side of a bigger visual kei/ goth store toward the center of Takeshita Street entering from the Harajuku Station. He makes handmade spooky teddy bears, rings, masks, and hats! I hope you guys will be able to find him if the chance ever comes.
For those of our readers planning on attending A-Kon in June, it was recently announced that Japanese Harajuku brand galaxxxy will be a fashion guest at A-Kon 29!
Hello all!!! Apologies for the delay on my outfit of the month articles. I’ve decided to combine both my best outfits from last month and this month into one! In January, I had a photoshoot with John Chu at the old LA Zoo. It was so much fun and i’m excited to show you all the photos! From February, I have gorgeous pictures from Perish’s Love and Lust Costume Valentines Ball held at Union in Downtown LA.
From the old LA Zoo, I’m wearing a beautiful outfit gifted to me by my mom from Hot Topic. I wore a glittery mesh undershirt worn under an amazing Tripp dress covered by a super cute black and white skull cardigan. I am also wearing tights and my absolute favorite platforms from Demonia. Unfortunately I was super sick that day and it was freezing outside! But I think I still looked pretty darn well ;) It was also my first official photoshoot outside of Harajuku Day! Check it out! This past weekend, Anime Los Angeles held their amazing convention at the Ontario Convention Center! They brought along lots of fun, cosplay, music and most importantly fashion to Southern California! The fashion show was held on Saturday afternoon (Day Three) of the con. It was super entertaining and eventful to watch the many brands, designers, and models that participated this year! All of the runway models were extremely amazing to watch. The clothes they wore included lots of cosplay fashion, Harajuku fashion, and various streetwear! Our good friend Ivan Aburto lent us his amazing photography to share with you all! Take a look at the various looks from this year’s ALA Fashion Show!!! If you would like to view more of the models from the ALA Fashion Show 2018, please feel free to check out Ivan’s public album here: http://bit.ly/2nJ7kSC

Many people both old and new showed up in their favorite J-Fashion inspired coords showing us a variety and abundance of creativity! Monique Lee (host of Harajuku Day) showed off her super cute DIY calendar project. Fun prints from the December meetup were available to put together your own scrapbook in cute little binders that were also provided. They also brought along cute tiny calendar months and note sheets so you can plan and talk about your coords for future events! We super loved this idea and thought it was very well put together. Check it out:
Happy New Year! Harajuku Day recently held their exciting Christmas meetup on December 23rd! Which also happened to be their last meet of 2017! This year flew by pretty fast but Harajuku Day was successfully able to keep up, holding an exciting meet-up every single month! We loved to see them grow throughout one of the toughest years. This meet was very intimate, small, with lots of love fulfilling the Christmas spirit down to a T! Check out some fun photos from the last meet of 2017!:
